About the NextGen Program
Golf Canada’s NextGen program aims to support and develop Canada’s next wave of future Team Canada athletes. The program is composed of four main components: NextGen Championships (formerly Future Links Championships), NextGen Super Camp, NextGen National Junior Orders of Merit and NextGen Athlete Tracking.
The NextGen program is proudly sponsored by Titleist Canada, FootJoy Canada and Sport Canada.
- NextGen Championships
NextGen Championships aim to provide a high performance training ground and competitive experience across six regions in Canada that showcase the next wave of up-and-coming junior golfers.

- NextGen Super Camp
NextGen Super Camp is an initiative focused on establishing relationships with a select group of targeted U17 and U15 athletes who have demonstrated exceptional performance during the previous golf season. The players are brought together from across Canada for 3-day immersive camps with Team Canada coaches and sport science staff.
At the camps, the athletes will:
- Undergo a battery of tests in all areas of performance
- Participate in interactive education sessions in such areas as physical preparation, recovery, tournament preparation, practice habits, goal setting, performance analysis, and planning.
- Learn from, and interact with, leading coaches and sport science personnel
- Train alongside the best up-and-coming players in the country
Throughout the year, Golf Canada staff will monitor the performance of the selected athletes remotely, through web-based performance tracking tools such that they can provide an athlete’s team with feedback and enhanced planning support.
Players selected to NextGen Camp Spring 2020:
- NextGen National Junior Orders of Merit
The NextGen National Junior Orders of Merit are used to identify and give recognition to top-performing male and female golfers across Canada who have achieved success in the golf season.

- NextGen Athlete Tracking
The NextGen Athlete Tracking initiative uses software to collect data on developing athletes and use the insights to help high performance staff make better informed data-driven decisions.
