VENICE, Fla. – Anne-Catherine Tanguay of Québec, Que., finished at 12-over par (75-81-71-73) in Sunday’s final round of stage II LPGA Qualifying School at the Plantation Golf & Country Club.
Tanguay, 24, was one of 85 women to finish inside the cut of 15-over (303). The former Team Canada member and Oklahoma Sooner will play in the final stage of the LPGA Qualifying Tournament taking place at the LPGA International Golf Course (Jones & Hill courses) from Dec. 2–6. Canadians Augusta James (Bath, Ont.), Maude-Aimée Leblanc (Sherbrooke, Que.), Samantha Richdale (Kelowna, B.C.), Jessica Wallace (Vancouver) and Sara Maude Juneuau (Fossambault, Que.) all finished inside the top-15 of the Symetra Tour’s Volvik Race For the Card to also earn a pass to compete in the final stage of LPGA Qualifying School.
American amateur Nelly Korda of Bradenton, Fla., earned medalist honours in Venice after carding a final-round 69 to post a 4-under score for the week.
Players that finish in the top-20 at Final Stage will receive category 12 status on the priority list for the LPGA Tour while players that finish 21 through 45 will receive category 17 status (conditional).
Players who missed the cut this week and completed 72 holes will automatically receive Symetra Tour status for 2016. All Canadians to make that list are posted below:
