As the National Sport Federation and governing body, Golf Canada is committed to increasing Canadian participation in golf by providing leadership, resources, and education. With a focus on values including fun and inclusivity, Golf Canada is dedicated to expanding opportunities for women in golf through programs designed specifically for women and girls that span the full participation pathway from First Involvement to High Performance.
She Plays Golf is a citywide celebration of women’s golf anchored in each region by an enhanced professional golf championship for professionals and elite amateurs and includes a professional women’s championship series with complementing regional festivals. She Plays Golf was successfully piloted across Calgary as part of the Glencoe Invitational in 2023 and will be expanding to Greater Vancouver and Greater Toronto in 2024.
Launched in 2021 by Golf Canada and the PGA of Canada, the Women in Coaching program aims to strike a stronger gender balance with high-performance coaches that better reflects the Canadian golf community. Each year approximately eight participants are selected to receive in-depth career development focusing on four main areas: individualized learning plans with monthly one-on-one check-ins, virtual and in-person coaching education and hands-on training experience.
