Good morning!

I booked the tee time last minute and got paired with a wonderful gentlemen and member of the course and his name was Elf.

We teed off on hole #10 so my ace on hole #11 was actually our second hole of the day. Was a challenge to get though the remaining 16 holes afterwards but managed to do okay. The yardage was 166 yards and I hit a 3/4 8 iron which landed four feet behind the hole and spun back in!

Thank you for your email. It was very special day at West Haven Golf & Country Club. I was playing with my husband, Michael Boyle. We usually play together every Sunday. We were also playing with another couple, Trish and Bob Reid, not our usual playing couples.

It was sunny and 21 degrees, a beautiful fall day! The 3rd hole at West Haven was 104 yards to the pin yesterday and I used an 8 iron. The shot had a very nice trajectory, hit the green and rolled a short distance into the hole.

The hole-in-one happened on hole #6 at Fairwinds Golf Course, Nanoose Bay, B.C. I was golfing with Sean Moore and Gordon Grant on a warm sunny Wednesday, 12th of October. We were 112 yards out. I was using a Callaway X-18 Pro Series pitching wedge and playing a TaylorMade Soft Select. It was just a pure hit that sailed super high directly over the flag, landed two feet past the hole and the backspin pulled it straight back into the dead center of the cup.

Well, finally got one! It was the afternoon of Tuesday, October 18th at Glen Arbour Golf Course, N.S. on hole #2. It was 142 yards, and I used a 9 Iron. The ball landed about five feet in front, slightly left of the pin. It just rolled over and in the hole. I shouted, “It’s in! It went in! I can’t believe it!” My playing partner, best friend and neighbour of 16 years, Armel Roy, let out a huge shout that could be heard all over the course. 

We picked up another player on the first tee, Jason Saulnier, who we hadn’t played with or met before. He said, “That’s the first hole-in-one I’ve ever seen.” I replied, “That makes two of us.”

After several rounds of high fives and a few more shouts I made my way over to the hole and plucked that ball from the cup. 

Armel took my picture and texted it to several friends. The word was out. I’ve had lots of congratulations come my way since then. Feels pretty Good!

Thank you very much for the email. I really appreciate the response. As I’m sure you can imagine, I’m happy to tell my story.

So, the day of my hole-in-one was a Friday, and I play on Fridays with what we call the Friday Group…a large group of men where on a given Friday, we can win skins and we do a blind draw for partners for the top few low net teams. At the end of the season the top four winners from the season play off for the top prize. On this Friday, I was advised on the tee box that I was very marginally out of the top four and would need to have a good day to move up to get into the playoff.

I was playing with three others from our Friday group: Reg Finlayson (who’s been at North Halton for many years, a very accomplished player and a real gentleman), Sebastien Myre (who makes every round extremely fun and not only had a hole-in-one this year himself, but had also already played with several others this year when they got holes-in-one) and Greg Frazer (a nice, very relaxed guy to play with). The perfect group for a fun day and some good golf. 

So, on the fourth hole I turned to the Sebastien and Reg and suggested I really needed to do something special today to get into the top four and given so many others had found luck playing with Sebastien this year I was hoping for some of that luck myself. Sebastien responds enthusiastically as always, “okay George, let’s do it!” We ask Reg how many holes-in-one he has and he said 12. So, I repeated I was with the right group to do something special today! Sebastien advises that you always want to make sure you get it there, so I pull out a 9 iron thinking I’ll take a bit more club and hit a bit of a knockdown 9. Reg tees off first on this 137-yard par 3, hits a good shot but it runs just off the back. He suggests that wind is clearly helping. So, my 9 goes back in the bag and I take out my pitching wedge instead. I hit my shot right on the line I was hoping and needed it to just clear the bunker and release down to the right to the hole. We see it just clear the bunker and disappear to the right. Reg responds, “that ball has a chance!” Sebastien hits a similar shot. Greg, I believe, misses just a little short. When we arrive at the green there’s only one ball on the green. Reg says he thinks mine is in the hole. I refused to look in the hole, instead looking to see if perhaps it’s run off the green to the right. Sebastien finally walks up, identifies his ball on the green, and then casually says my ball is in the hole. I replied I wasn’t so sure about that. Sebastian replies, “George! You’re playing a Srixon with a red dot today.  here’s a Srixon with a red dot in the hole! Your ball is in the hole!” The celebration ensues! 

Unfortunately, I was advised after the round that while I got a skin with my hole-in-one, in the blind partner draw I drew a partner that helped us come in second low net on the day and the person I needed to catch drew a partner that got him into first for the day, resulting in me losing getting into the final foursome by thirteen cents; but I got my first hole-in-one! A super fun day with lots of fun drama and I got to do what I always say I play for; the ability to hit the shot when you really need to hit the shot!

Thank you for emailing me! What a surprise! This is awesome as the Woodside Golf Course didn’t have any memorabilia for a hole-in-one.

First of all, it was freezing that day! It was seven or eight degrees and raining on and off in the morning. The hole was playing 115 yards but with how cold it was, I played it 120 yards and I was using my pitching wedge (Taylormade p790). Tee’d it up and hit the most perfect shot, it was going right at the hole, but I didn’t think anything of it. All of a sudden it took one bounce and hopped right in the hole! 

I was playing with Jay-Ar Arcilla, Mark Quintin and Marvin Quintin.

My friends and I were out in Huntsville earlier this year to enjoy a summer weekend. In my group, I was playing with my friends Savi, Kevin and Alan on the Highlands par 72 course. I was playing from the white tees. I got my hole-in-one on the 8th hole which was playing around 131 yards. The tees are slightly elevated, and you hit down into the green, so I factored this in and chose to hit my pitching wedge. The golf ball that I was using was a Titleist Pro V1x. I hit a slight draw on the shot and the ball landed about two or three feet left of the pin but had some nice right sidespin which spun it right into the hole! It was quite fascinating watching the ball spin about two or three feet back to the right and into the hole which made the moment that much more exciting.

Thank you for your congratulations and opportunity to share my unique moment.

The hole-in-one took place on October 18, 2022, on hole #4 at the Pender Island golf course. The distance is 113 yards, and the shot was witnessed by Caroline Davidson. It happened during a very relaxed game on one of our last incredibly beautiful golf days this Fall. Temperatures and conditions were prime with Caroline and I enjoying the immaculate course.

I used my driver for the shot, aiming at a high point outside of the green hoping the ball would run to the green. Indeed, it did! At first, I thought I had lost my ball as Caroline nor I could locate it. As a last measure Caroline jokingly said, “’well better check the hole.” To our astonishment there it was! A hole-in-one. Hard to believe. A very great surreal moment!

Thanks! I was playing with my husband, Malcolm, and our friends, Michael and Zack. It was likely going to be the last round of the season and I was disappointed that I hadn’t been playing well. When we walked up to the 17th tee boxes, we all said the flag was in the “hole in one” position as it was in a funnel in the middle of the green.  

From my tee box I already knew my 52-degree wedge would be too short and my pitching wedge too long, so I figured I’d go long and hope the ball didn’t roll off the green. Luckily, I hit it well and soft enough that it landed just behind the mound to the left of the hole, the ball rolled down the funnel and straight to the pin. Even though I saw it happen, I wanted to actually look in the hole as balls always roll down that funnel and right off the green into the bunker. Not this time though! What a way to end the season and we had a great time in the clubhouse with all the members after that!

Hole #13 is 125 yards to the back pin position. Hit an 8 iron in and seen the first bounce on the green but because of the slope couldn’t see it from there. My playing partners said they thought it hit the pin. Other club members coming off an adjacent green started to yell at us that the ball had actually hit the pin and gone in. My playing partners were Jim Charlton, Mark Clathora and Steve Dallaway.

It came as a bit of a shock, especially considering how poorly I was playing on Sunday!

Both of my sons have been lucky to get a hole-in-one at the Pulpit and Paintbrush respectively, so the pressure

I was playing with my son, Charlie Skuce, Ben Cabrajic and his guest, Chris Vajdic. We teed up from the blue tees and the pin was at the front of the green 109 yrds away. The wind was in our face. I went first with my pitching wedge.I have been using a single plane swing this year and must have been channeling Moe Norman! I hit it straight at the pin. It landed about three inches in front of the hole and rolled straight in. The guys went nuts behind me. I could not believe I had finally done it. I have a video and a pic of me retrieving the ball (Titleist Pro V1).

My hole-in-one was at Belleview Golf South in Woodslee, Ontario. It was on hole #11. Yardage was 191 and I used a M2 TaylorMade 5 wood. My good friends, Merrick McCall and Bruce Cascadden, were my witnesses that day. I did not see it go in the hole. I thought it was long of the green. Merrick watched it all the way and witnessed it go in the hole. I didn’t believe him at first; you know how friends are they like to kid around, so until I saw it in the hole, I didn’t believe him. Then we had a few drinks to celebrate.

Thanks. I was playing with my usual Sunday group: my brother, Paul, and my friends, Frank Dingethal and Paula Renon. The hole was playing to 132 yards, and I used a 9 iron. It hit the green about 15 feet from the pin and trickled in perfectly. It was my fourth career hole-in-one but the first at Doon; the other three were at Rockway golf course.

Woodside is our home course of which we are members. I am 68 years old and was playing from the silver tees. I used a pitching wedge to an elevated green that was 73 yards and was happy to see it going straight to the hole. It dropped and rolled in much to my amazement! I was playing with my husband, Tony, and two other men that we were paired with. It was one of the other men who yelled that it was in! It was definitely my golf highlight!

It was one lucky shot with my pitching wedge. The hole was #4 on the North Course at TPC at Osprey Valley. The yardage was 86! Still in disbelief!

The hole was playing 150 yards. I used my 7 iron. The ball hit just in front of the pin and hopped in. My playing partners (Rob Ross, Steve Russell and Stan Reid) and myself weren’t sure if it had gone in but, not seeing the ball anywhere on the green, we knew it went in. This was my third hole-in-one. My last one was about 30 years ago. Thank goodness our club has hole-in-one insurance as this happened during our regular Wednesday men’s day.

This round of golf was special in that our foursome consisting of my brother, David Attard, and friends, Trevor Wall and Mike Tomkin, was playing one of our final rounds at Trafalgar, as the course is closing its doors forever on October 30th. 

The ace came on the 17th hole in which I was third to play. Mike and I were two down in the match and Trevor hit a good shot 10 feet short of the pin. My brother hit a self-proclaimed beauty that scared the pin and landed about eight feet past the pin. I was next to play. The hole was playing 165 yards and I hit a 5 iron. It landed a couple feet short and went in the hole. It was a little surreal! But we did go on to lose the mach.

I have played the game for 40 years, and until 11 days prior, I never had a hole-in-one. 11 days prior, I aced the 17th hole at Cranberry Golf Course in a four-man scramble. 

So very surreal. Who knows, this may be the last ever ace at Trafalgar Golf Club? So, the foursome of my brother David, Trevor & Mike used this to celebrate!

It was 146 yards to the pin, 140 to the front bunker and for me this was a 7 iron. The ball landed at 145 yards and just left but with my natural fade it spun slightly right and forward. This was my first season back playing in 25 years and the final round before the course closes for the long winter.

You are absolutely correct that this is a story to share for the rest of my life. It would have been awesome to have some drone footage from above, but the picture will be fixed in my mind forever.

The irony of it is that I can’t really say that I was aiming at the pin (the back of green up a slope on a 100-yard hole but away from the large bunker on the left/front side of the green). It has caught my ball an inordinate number of times this past season!

I used my usual club on the hole (unless a very front pin placement), an 8 iron. I was playing with my friend, Harla. The weather was so miserable, cool and windy with rain predicted that we went out to the course last minute with the thought process that we might get a few holes in but were not optimistic. That’s why we weren’t armed with our usual equipment like a phone or even snacks. The course was very quiet, so we actually were able to make good time. Oh, and by the way I was using an old found ball from who knows when because in the fall I don’t play with any of my treasured balls. All I can say is it helped to keep my expectations low. I can’t say that I won’t be expecting a miracle again whenever I step up to that tee box in the future. As a matter of fact, the next time I played that hole, you guessed it, I went into that left/front bunker!

I was on a “boys” trip with my dad, cousin and friend for the week. This was the first round of the trip. It was a front pin and played 167 yards. Ball landed just right of the hole and took a kick and rolled about five feet in the hole!

Just reporting that after 30 plus years of playing, and over 1,200 rounds, I recorded my first ever hole-in-one on Sunday, October 11, 2022!

It happened on hole #6 at The Dunes in Kamloops, B.C.

Playing conditions were windy, so I swung an easy pitching wedge from 127 yards to a front pin location. After I struck the ball, I thought “great line, but I think it will be a bit long” and bent down to pick up my tee. Just then, my playing partner yelled “get in the hole” and I looked to the pin just in time to see white turn to green! The ball traveled slightly past the pin and screwed back into the cup for my first ever!

Needless to say, it was pretty exciting!

I was playing in a tournament that I won with Michael Li, Vincent Guo and Oscar Yu. It was on hole #8 in Mayfair Lakes located in Richmond, B.C. from 150 yards. I hit a 9 iron and it turned out to be my first hole-in-one. The hole-in-one on the second day got me to -7 and also gave me a six-shot lead!

I was playing with Tom Volk, Dave Neville and James Holder (all Golf Canada members). We were on a Scotland golf trip that was three years in the making…twice delayed due to the pandemic. Eleven rounds in total. Played the Old Course today!

It was the par 4 7th hole called Peggy, 241 yards from our tees. It was a very windy day in Elie, Scotland. I hit a driver, low, over the mount in the fairway. The others hit similar shots. When we got over the mount, we saw three balls just short of the green. We checked the bunkers to the right of the green and didn’t see anything. Then we thought to look in the hole and there it was, my ball. First hole-in-one and it was an albatross.

After struggling at the early part of the 2022 season, I took some lessons from Glencoe’s Judy Forshner and Canadian tour pro, Wes Heffernan. With just a few swing thoughts, they got me back on track. I was playing the Forest course at the Glencoe Golf and Country Club with my best friend, Lynn Grafton, on Thursday, October 6, the day before my birthday! Hole #5 has an elevated tee box, with water on the right and sand all along the left of the green. It was windy and a blue flag, so I took a couple of wedges up to the tee box. The flag was 116 yards. I decided to hit my gap wedge, because it is an accurate club for me. The shot was on line to the pin. It hit the green, bounced once or twice and rolled in. It was my fourth hole-in-one but the best one because I was playing with my bestie, on the day before my birthday and just before Thanksgiving. Doesn’t get any better than that as they say. I just wish I had worn a nicer outfit!

I was playing with a few friends from work at Lynx Ridge. The 12th hole was a front left pin position that day. I hit a 6-iron from around 200 yards to the pin. Landed about 4 feet before the pin and just released into the hole. Very exciting. Shoutout to Matt, who I was playing with, for an eagle (2) on the ninth hole from 145 yards out. Big day on the course.

My hole-in-one was on hole 13 at Tsawwassen Springs. I was playing in my Tuesday Ladies League with Alison, Margaret and Laureen. It was 106 yards, and I used my 7 iron. I watched the ball hit the green curl toward the hole and fall in. Very exciting! It was an expensive day though as there were about 40 ladies to buy drinks for after the round…well worth it though!

I organized a small Fall tournament to enjoy the changing of the leaves consisting of 16 players. That hole was the closest to the pin contest where everyone threw in $5 each to compete. So bottom line, I won $80 but the bar tab was $125. I was playing with Chris Day, John Black and Jamie York. The hole was 138 yards. Used a 9 iron.

I was golfing with Terry and Ray. 144 yards to the middle pin and used an 8 iron.

Thanks for the congratulations from Golf Canada. This was my second hole-in-one, the first being on the 8th hole at Bayview Golf and Country Club. I used a 9 iron for a 146-yard shot directly into the wind. The best part was seeing the ball fly over the water, hit the front of the green and roll into the hole. What an experience. Made it even more fun because I shared it with my friends from Bayview that were playing in my foursome – Michel Paradis, Nick D’Agostino and Mark Paterson. What a day.

Hole-in-one was on #12 at the Glacier Greens course in Comox, B.C. The hole was playing 109 yards and I used a 9 iron. I was playing with two of my buddies, Dave and Rick. It was my second hole-in-one on that hole and third total. ?

Thank you. To your questions:

We have just completed renovations to our home and wanted to thank the husband-and-wife team who partnered with us on the renovation for the past six months. They golf so we wanted to take them out. It was a late afternoon tee time and a gorgeous day.

I had the yardage as 135 and its slightly downhill. I took out a nine iron. Since it was late afternoon, it was one of those shots where the sun was in your eyes. I hit it and it felt solid but with the sun, I couldn’t see it in flight. I put my hand up to block the sun and just looked at the pin waiting for it to land (hopefully) somewhere on the green. You can see the green well, it landed right in front of the pin, and seemed to take a small roll and just disappear. We all thought that it went in and as we then walked to the green, there it was, in the hole. Wild. I’ve never had one.

In true golf fashion, I did the following things. I fixed my ball mark, took a picture because it was amazing. Then, I was reminded about the golf gods who got even with me as I went on to double the next hole. 

The ball now sits on my shelf, as who knows if it will ever happen again. Oh, what’s luckier than getting a hole-in-one? Doing it on a day when the course bar was closed (as they were punching the fairways on the main course).

Thank you for the email regarding my hole-in-one on number 6 at Islington Golf Course. 

The group is the usual gang on Wednesdays, who I refer to as the Super Seniors. Let me clarify, I am not one of them, I am the young one.

The group in the picture attached is me, Bob Guthrie, Larry Citrullo and Goerge Mitchell who was filling in for the absent Bruce Kenney.

Hole #6 was playing 108 yards from the blue tees which is the Super Seniors tee of choice on Wednesdays. I hit last as we play ready golf, and I grabbed my pitching wedge, the pin was white which is middle, but it was behind a mound so you couldn’t see the ground. I fired a little draw to the right side of the green and it actually hit the fringe and did the left turn. That was all I saw from the tee, but I knew it was good. When I got up to the green, I passed George’s shot, he was right, off the putting surface. Larry had already arrived at the back of the green as he was long and in a cart that day. Bob was lumbering up to the bunker short of the green. 

As I climbed the little rise to the green and noted all of the above, I did not see my ball, and the pin was about 10 paces off the right, so I proceeded to the hole with my clubs still on my back, I looked down and there it was lying comfortably in the bottom of the cup. I bent over and quietly picked it out of the hole. Larry was the first to notice and acknowledge that it was an ace. I was thrilled but didn’t celebrate in a manner one might expect. Bob was shocked that I didn’t hoot and holler but it’s not my style and even though that was my third ace on number 6 the celebrations have all been the same, very subdued.

I was playing with my husband, Alex Yandryk, and friends, Angie and Craig Anderson (all active Golf Canada members). During our last day of playing at Boyne Highlands, I stared down the 95 yard #16 at the Arthur Hills course with my pitching wedge and after one bounce, it rolled into the hole. Funny thing is that my playing partners all saw the ball go into the hole, but I forgot to wear my contacts that day and only saw the ball flight off the tee but nothing else!

Although this is my second hole-in-one, it truly an awesome moment for me.

Thanks for the lovely follow up regarding my recent hole-in-one.

I was very fortunate to have my brother, Bruce Clark, and my twin sister, Karen Flett, witness my shot. This was on the 5th hole and the yardage as indicated on the scorecard is 88 yards. I used a gap wedge. This actually was my seventh recorded hole-in-one which gives me a one up on my husband who last month recorded his sixth on the very same hole!  We have quite the friendly competition going!

Golf is such a great game, and we sure enjoy the amazement by our fellow club mates that as a husband and wife we have 13 between the two of us. 

My playing partners for that beautiful day were Les Desi, Duncan Chisholm and Don (Shorty) Owchar. It was hole #4 which scoped out at 147 yards. I used my 9 iron. Shorty called it in the air and to my disbelief, it hit right of the pin, one hopped and spun into the hole.

Thanks for reaching out. It feels like I’ve been on cloud nine since that magical moment. 

I was golfing with Mike Morningstar and Dino Zampini. We normally tee off early and last Sunday was no different as we teed off at 7:10am at Lowville. 

The round was going a little sideways before I stepped up to the tee box on hole #13. Dino had just made birdie on No. 12 to increase his lead on both Mike and me.

The wind was directly in our face on the par 3 which measured at 149 yards but was playing 160. The hole was cut on the lower tier of the green. Dino played first and came up just short. I was the next to play and used a 7 iron. I hit my line which was to land on the top tier and allow the ball to disappear down the slope to the hole. Mike’s shot ended up on the back of the green 15 feet from the hole. From the tee box, the hole was out of sight so as we were walking up to the green, we only saw Mike’s ball. I started to get a little excited. I crept up to the hole like I was hunting, trying not to make a noise. I peered over the lip of the hole and there it was, all snuggled in cozy in the bottom of the cup. 

As this was my first hole-in-one ever, a rush of excitement stayed with me for the rest of the round and day. To say there were a few high fives and smiles would be an understatement. It was amazing to share that moment with the boys as while we want to beat each other, we high five each other when a great shot it made.

I was playing with a few friends from work at Lynx Ridge. The 12th hole was a front left pin position that day. I hit a 6-iron from around 200 yards to the pin. Landed about 4 feet before the pin and just released into the hole. Very exciting. Shoutout to Matt, who I was playing with, for an eagle (2) on the ninth hole from 145 yards out. Big day on the course.

My hole-in-one was on hole 13 at Tsawwassen Springs. I was playing in my Tuesday Ladies League with Alison, Margaret and Laureen. It was 106 yards, and I used my 7 iron. I watched the ball hit the green curl toward the hole and fall in. Very exciting! It was an expensive day though as there were about 40 ladies to buy drinks for after the round…well worth it though!

I organized a small Fall tournament to enjoy the changing of the leaves consisting of 16 players. That hole was the closest to the pin contest where everyone threw in $5 each to compete. So bottom line, I won $80 but the bar tab was $125. I was playing with Chris Day, John Black and Jamie York. The hole was 138 yards. Used a 9 iron.

I was golfing with Terry and Ray. 144 yards to the middle pin and used an 8 iron.

Thanks for the congratulations from Golf Canada. This was my second hole-in-one, the first being on the 8th hole at Bayview Golf and Country Club. I used a 9 iron for a 146-yard shot directly into the wind. The best part was seeing the ball fly over the water, hit the front of the green and roll into the hole. What an experience. Made it even more fun because I shared it with my friends from Bayview that were playing in my foursome – Michel Paradis, Nick D’Agostino and Mark Paterson. What a day.

Hole-in-one was on #12 at the Glacier Greens course in Comox, B.C. The hole was playing 109 yards and I used a 9 iron. I was playing with two of my buddies, Dave and Rick. It was my second hole-in-one on that hole and third total. ?

We have just completed renovations to our home and wanted to thank the husband-and-wife team who partnered with us on the renovation for the past six months. They golf so we wanted to take them out. It was a late afternoon tee time and a gorgeous day.

I had the yardage as 135 and its slightly downhill. I took out a nine iron. Since it was late afternoon, it was one of those shots where the sun was in your eyes. I hit it and it felt solid but with the sun, I couldn’t see it in flight. I put my hand up to block the sun and just looked at the pin waiting for it to land (hopefully) somewhere on the green. You can see the green well, it landed right in front of the pin, and seemed to take a small roll and just disappear. We all thought that it went in and as we then walked to the green, there it was, in the hole. Wild. I’ve never had one.

In true golf fashion, I did the following things. I fixed my ball mark, took a picture because it was amazing. Then, I was reminded about the golf gods who got even with me as I went on to double the next hole. 

The ball now sits on my shelf, as who knows if it will ever happen again. Oh, what’s luckier than getting a hole-in-one? Doing it on a day when the course bar was closed (as they were punching the fairways on the main course).

Thank you for the email regarding my hole-in-one on number 6 at Islington Golf Course. 

The group is the usual gang on Wednesdays, who I refer to as the Super Seniors. Let me clarify, I am not one of them, I am the young one.

The group in the picture attached is me, Bob Guthrie, Larry Citrullo and Goerge Mitchell who was filling in for the absent Bruce Kenney.

Hole #6 was playing 108 yards from the blue tees which is the Super Seniors tee of choice on Wednesdays. I hit last as we play ready golf, and I grabbed my pitching wedge, the pin was white which is middle, but it was behind a mound so you couldn’t see the ground. I fired a little draw to the right side of the green and it actually hit the fringe and did the left turn. That was all I saw from the tee, but I knew it was good. When I got up to the green, I passed George’s shot, he was right, off the putting surface. Larry had already arrived at the back of the green as he was long and in a cart that day. Bob was lumbering up to the bunker short of the green. 

As I climbed the little rise to the green and noted all of the above, I did not see my ball, and the pin was about 10 paces off the right, so I proceeded to the hole with my clubs still on my back, I looked down and there it was lying comfortably in the bottom of the cup. I bent over and quietly picked it out of the hole. Larry was the first to notice and acknowledge that it was an ace. I was thrilled but didn’t celebrate in a manner one might expect. Bob was shocked that I didn’t hoot and holler but it’s not my style and even though that was my third ace on number 6 the celebrations have all been the same, very subdued.

On July 15th during the Aaron Asham tournament, I got a hole-in-one on the 12th hole at the Portage Golf Club in Manitoba. It was a hot day with the temperature around 31 with a humidex close to 38. I was golfing with Mike Panko, Gary Woods and Susanna L’Heureux. There was a bit of wind from the east so slightly helping. Pin was set middle front at a distance of 139 yards from the tees.

I was between clubs, thinking I might hit a nine but also took an 8 iron up to the tee box. I decided on hitting a nine. Stride had a couple of tents set up handing out BP Pizza on the back of tee box with Stacy and another employee there. Brad Bailey was also there with his group.

I hit the nine beautifully, a high fade turning towards the pin. It looked like it landed right beside the pin and had stopped so I picked up my tee and turned around. A bit of time had passed when all of the sudden everyone starts going crazy. I hit it 10 feet past the pin, but the ball bounced forward and then spun all the way back into the cup. So, it looked like it was stopped but it was rolling back towards the cup when I turned around. So, I actually never saw it fall in!

I golfed pretty well after that and made a number of putts and another birdie on five by hitting it over the trees even with a headwind. Great day.

I played with Sharon Owen and Barb Davison. The 15th hole is 145 yards, and I used my driver. The hole is uphill, and we didn’t see the ball go into the hole but when we got to the green, we couldn’t find my ball. When Barb was putting out, she said there’s a ball in here. Pulled it out and lo and behold my Srixon marked with my name in red. A thrill for sure.

I was playing with some of the hole #12 volunteers, who marshalled the hole during the CP Women’s Open recently held in Ottawa, ON. Our hole Captain, Riad, arranged the game. The hole was playing about 115 yards with a slight headwind. I was playing the forward tees and used a nine iron. The ball landed on the fringe, and we saw it roll in the hole. This was my second hole-in-one.

Thank you very much! This was an exciting day for me. I am 65 years old, and I have only been golfing for five years and never thought I would get a hole-in-one in my lifetime. I was playing with my husband, Doug, and some dear friends, Nancy Houston and Rod Trites. I don’t remember the exact yardage, but it was a back pin and I used my 5 hybrid. My husband saw it go in and I thought I did but I know how deceiving it can be from a distance, so I didn’t believe it until I saw the ball in the hole.

Hi,

Every Fall, this group gets together and travels to a B.C. area for a week of golf. This year, we stayed in Osoyoos. Each day we golfed a different golf club ending with a team scramble event at the Princeton Golf Course on Friday. On Friday September 16th, I was golfing with Charlie Brard, Newton Wainman and Neil Weisner. 

We were -2 getting to the sixth hole and shot a bogey. The 7th hole was a par 135-yard par 3. I was second in the order. We could see the flag but a mound in front prevented seeing the hole. I selected an 8 iron and aimed right of the hole hoping it would roll down to the flag. We were confident that three of the four tee shots were on the green. Once we got to the green, we only saw two balls. Neil went and checked the hole and there was my ball. I was ecstatic!

Good thing I bought hole-in-one insurance. This was a thirsty group. We ended up tied for first place with two other teams at six under. Amazing day to end a great trip with great people. 

The Princeton Golf Course gave me 2 passes and a hole-in-one golf bag tag.

Thanks for reaching out to me on the hole-in-one. The yardage was 135 and I used a 7 iron. It was quite windy there as well with the wind blowing from left to right. The ball landed on the front of the green, took one hop and rolled to the cup and dropped in. My playing partners were all yelling, “go in, go in.” We have been playing this mini tournament for quite a while now and usually we have anywhere from 12-16 guys, and some come from as far away as British Columbia, Alberta and Ontario. This was our 25th anniversary this year and it is the first hole-in-one in 25 years. The names of my foursome are Roger Maslen, Fred Graham and Gerrard McInnis.

We were on 8th hole par 3 and playing from white tees. Hole measured 165 yards and I used a 7 iron. I was the last guy to shoot and had a good swing. One bounce and it rolled in.

We were on our annual trip and decided to go to Kamloops this year. I was playing with my good friends Ryan Thompson, Brandon Kerr and Jeremy Mitchell. It was on hole #3, 136 yards and I hit my pitching wedge. It landed on the green, bounced and spun and headed toward the hole. I heard my ball hit the pin as it disappeared. The Marshall had even just pulled up beside the green to see it all happen.

Occurred on hole number 8 at Eagles Nest on Thursday, September 1st. I grabbed my gap wedge and hit three quarters swing to a front pin with a 121 yardage. The ball bounced about 10 feet short and right of the pin. The ball then rolled up and right in the front of the hole.

Yes, it was an exciting to get a hole-in-one. I was playing with my husband, Paul Dashkewytch, and our friends, Kelly Dunn and Mike LaFarge. It was the 14th hole at The Springs Course in Radium. It was a back left pin (100 yards), and I used an A wedge. The shot landed passed the pin and slowly rolled back towards the hole. It was great fun as we were able to watch the ball slowly trickle into the hole. A foursome was waiting on the 15th hole, and they saw it too which added to the excitement. My only other hole-in-one was also at the Springs in 1998. The Springs gave me a flag to keep as a momentum which is so thoughtful.

The hole was playing about 115 yards with a slight headwind. I was playing the forward tees and used a nine iron. The ball landed on the fringe, and we saw it roll in the hole. This was my second hole-in-one.

Thank you very much! This was an exciting day for me. I am 65 years old, and I have only been golfing for five years and never thought I would get a hole-in-one in my lifetime. I was playing with my husband, Doug, and some dear friends, Nancy Houston and Rod Trites. I don’t remember the exact yardage, but it was a back pin and I used my 5 hybrid. My husband saw it go in and I thought I did but I know how deceiving it can be from a distance, so I didn’t believe it until I saw the ball in the hole.

Hello and thank you! The day I achieved the hole-in-one I was using a 6 iron as I was hitting into 50 km/h cross winds. I was golfing with Vaughn MacDonald, Cyril MacQueen, and one other individual. The distance I hit it from was 172 yards.

Hi,

Every Fall, this group gets together and travels to a B.C. area for a week of golf. This year, we stayed in Osoyoos. Each day we golfed a different golf club ending with a team scramble event at the Princeton Golf Course on Friday. On Friday September 16th, I was golfing with Charlie Brard, Newton Wainman and Neil Weisner. 

We were -2 getting to the sixth hole and shot a bogey. The 7th hole was a par 135-yard par 3. I was second in the order. We could see the flag but a mound in front prevented seeing the hole. I selected an 8 iron and aimed right of the hole hoping it would roll down to the flag. We were confident that three of the four tee shots were on the green. Once we got to the green, we only saw two balls. Neil went and checked the hole and there was my ball. I was ecstatic!

Good thing I bought hole-in-one insurance. This was a thirsty group. We ended up tied for first place with two other teams at six under. Amazing day to end a great trip with great people. 

The Princeton Golf Course gave me 2 passes and a hole-in-one golf bag tag.

Thanks for reaching out to me on the hole-in-one. The yardage was 135 and I used a 7 iron. It was quite windy there as well with the wind blowing from left to right. The ball landed on the front of the green, took one hop and rolled to the cup and dropped in. My playing partners were all yelling, “go in, go in.” We have been playing this mini tournament for quite a while now and usually we have anywhere from 12-16 guys, and some come from as far away as British Columbia, Alberta and Ontario. This was our 25th anniversary this year and it is the first hole-in-one in 25 years. The names of my foursome are Roger Maslen, Fred Graham and Gerrard McInnis.

It’s #16, 161 yards to the pin, I used my 8 iron. Simon Deng, Michael Pat and Hai Wang were the witnesses. At that moment, my ball hit the back edge of the green, nine yards behind the pin, then bounced forward about one yard, after an obvious pause in the short cut rough (maybe two seconds only), the ball came back slowly, rolled towards the hole, and in the hole finally. Fantastic shot!

I appreciate the email and your congratulations.

I was playing in the Seniors "Boomer" league with George Moon, Ted Powers and Mo Smith. When we got to the 5th hole, a par 3, I realized I'd left my Pinseeker at the last hole, so everyone in my group hit away when I went back to retrieve the Pinseeker.

Not finding it, I returned to the hole and my group started checking the carts to see if it was misplaced somewhere there.

The hole was 145 yards and I hit my 8 iron, and the ball landed about 6' from pin and rolled up. It disappeared and I said to my group (who were busy checking the cart) that I thought the ball might have gone in hole! I didn't get too excited because that green has several dips where a ball can roll to and disappear from view but still be far from the hole.

We drove up to the hole and there was a ball about 4' from pin and I thought it must be mine, but after I checked, it was my cart partners. I looked in the hole and there was my ball! At that point my whole four some got excited! My first hole-in-one!

At Whistlebear, anone getting a hole-in-one gets to ring a large bell in the lounge, and also get 25 drink tickets. Surprisingly, I seemed to have a lot of friends there that day as I gave away 23 tickets!

Thanks. It was an amazing time. I experienced this with family and friends. That day, I played with my neighbour, Jazz Makkar, Aman Saggu and nephew, Raman Sahota. We were on 8th hole par 3 and playing from white tees. Hole measured 165 yards and I used a 7 iron. I was the last guy to shoot and had a good swing. One bounce and it rolled in.

I was playing with a few friends from work at Lynx Ridge. The 12th hole was a front left pin position that day. I hit a 6-iron from around 200 yards to the pin. Landed about 4 feet before the pin and just released into the hole. Very exciting. Shoutout to Matt, who I was playing with, for an eagle (2) on the ninth hole from 145 yards out. Big day on the course.

My hole-in-one was on hole 13 at Tsawwassen Springs. I was playing in my Tuesday Ladies League with Alison, Margaret and Laureen. It was 106 yards, and I used my 7 iron. I watched the ball hit the green curl toward the hole and fall in. Very exciting! It was an expensive day though as there were about 40 ladies to buy drinks for after the round…well worth it though!

I organized a small Fall tournament to enjoy the changing of the leaves consisting of 16 players. That hole was the closest to the pin contest where everyone threw in $5 each to compete. So bottom line, I won $80 but the bar tab was $125. I was playing with Chris Day, John Black and Jamie York. The hole was 138 yards. Used a 9 iron.

I was golfing with Terry and Ray. 144 yards to the middle pin and used an 8 iron.

I had a hole-in-one at Royalwood Golf and RV Resort on August 9, 2022. Hole #8 it was playing 130 yards from the white tees. I am a member at Royalwood Golf and RV Resort.

What a fun time in Summerland, B.C.! I was playing with my dad, Gary Higson, his friend, Tom Moran and one of Tom’s friends from Penticton. The yardage was 135 yards. I used a gap wedge and hit it 10 feet pass the pin and it slowly backed up to the flag and then disappeared! After some celebrating on the tee box, we snapped a picture with the three of us from Dawson Creek, B.C.!

– Background: Playing a threesome (Wendy MacNaughton, Dan Turcotte and I), teed off at 08:00. We were shooting into the sun, and it was difficult to watch/see the ball. But we could hear the plop when the ball landed. Dan shot first, then me and Wendy. When we arrived at the green, Dan’s ball was sitting on the front of the green. But I could not see my ball on the green. We looked all over and off the green in case I overshot. Then we saw the ball mark about 30” in front of the hole and when I looked in the hole and to my surprise there it was, and I had my first hole-in-one.

Given my surname, it is rather ironic that my first hole-in-one occurred at St. “Andrews” by the lake.  

It occurred on August 9, 2022, during a family reunion trip in Summerland (I live in Ladner and normally play at Surrey Golf). I was golfing with my wife, Karen, and my cousin, Ray, who was visiting from England. I had last played the course about 25 years ago when I had just taken up golfing. 

There is a walk up to the tee box. As the card said 191 yards, I went up with 5 hybrid. However, once at the tee box, my GPS read 204. There was a wait before I could tee off and someone in the following group arrived and confirmed the distance as 204 yards.

Given the GPS reading, it was a good thing I was too lazy to go back and get my 4 hybrid as the 5 hybrid did the trick. I saw it land before the green and bend on the green towards the hole, but I thought the ball had rolled past the hole. My wife thought it might have gone in the hole.  

When I didn’t see the ball on the green, I didn’t dare look in the hole until I checked behind the green. As the ball wasn’t there, I peeked into the hole and was ecstatic to see the ball and that I finally had my first hole in one at age 58.

As it happens, on the previous hole I was 2” from getting an eagle on a par 4 for the first time. That’ll have to wait for another day. 

It was a very fun day. I was playing with Jenifer Jones. Yardage on hole 12 that day was about 89 yards. I used my approach wedge, hit the fringe, took one hop, and rolled in the hole. Nicest hole for it as the view is spectacular. 

My first hole-in-one was Friday August 26 at Silver Springs Golf Club is sunny Calgary. I was playing with my amazing wife, Traci Meades, (who had her first hole-in-one earlier this season as well) and our friends Randy and Corrine Chappell.

Hole #17. par 3. 142 yards. Used a pitching wedge.

Randy and I jokingly talked about not having seen a hole-in-one as we walked up to the 17^th tee box. I went first. While my well struck ball, with a baby draw, is in the air, I jokingly say “get in the hole so Randy can see a hole-in-one.” 

As the ball approaches the green, I lose sight of it in the shadows. Randy says he heard my ball hit the flagstick. But none of us know where my ball ended up.

As we walked up to the green, we discover that my ball went directly into the cup…never hit the putting surface.

I don’t normally take my cell phone on the golf course, but I did that day as I was expecting a call from a client. Glad I did…so I have great photos (and memories) from that day!

I’ve been playing golf a long time, but it wasn’t until the last three years that I started putting more effort into improving my game. I’ve always been a long hitter, coming from a baseball and hockey background, so my short game is where I have been spending the most practise. With more time spent golfing, my wife and son started joining me and golfing more as well. Sunday was the first time we took on the challenge of taking my daughter (2 years old) along with my son, (5 years old) out for a round. Amongst the chaos of two restless kids, I somehow managed to pull off the best shot of my life so far.

The hole was a 126-yard par 3, slightly uphill and playing a bit downwind. 126 yards is between a gap wedge and a pitching wedge for me, but I opted to go for a choked up three-quarter swing pitching wedge. The ball was struck perfectly, and it was precisely on the line I had picked. I knew it was a good shot instantly. Upon landing, I immediately froze trying to focus my eyes on just how close it really was, and that’s when the ball disappeared. My wife and I quickly turn to each other, and both simultaneously say, “I think it went in!”

I took a video of the walk with my son up to the green to verify that it had indeed dropped in the hole. Below is the hole in one picture, and a day on the course with my family I’ll never forget.

I was very amazed to learn that you knew about my hole-in-one on Tuesday, August 16 at the Legends in Warman. Thank you for your recognition of my special day.

To answer your questions: Tuesday is Ladies’ Day for our Tuesday Morning Ladies Golf League at the Legends. This year, we have 37 members from all walks of life and a very sociable group. I was playing with Maureen, Sylvia and Cindy. The par 3, hole #7 from the forward red blocks is 92 yards. In the past, I have tried using a 9 iron and was never satisfied with the results. So, recently I have started using my 6 iron (I don’t have a 7 or 8 iron in my bag) with better results. On the 16^th, I teed up and had also changed my ball from a Callaway to a Pinnacle Lady with my lucky number 4 on it. My shot was the sweetest, lovely in the air, straight at the flag and dropped almost immediately into the hole. Our cheers echoed across to the group behind us. Since our fun day game was closest to the pin on the par 3’s. I had my name on the proximity marker for the prize.
 

The next sweetest thing is my name and date goes on a small, engraved plate mounted on the hole #7 board in the upper hall of the clubhouse. Four boards are there for each of the par 3 holes and above, the title Legends Hole in One Club. My name plate is the first one on the hole #14 board for my hole-in-one on September 28, 2011, during the first game I played at the newly opened Legends course. I didn’t see that one go into the hole because I was picking up my tee and looked up to see my playing partners cheering wildly. This wall display is a special to all the people whose names are on it and an excellent tribute by the Legends course management.

Good afternoon, thanks for reaching out. Was a great day yesterday with hitting the hole-in-one. Playing on Copperhead at Rattlesnake, we started on the back nine and got to hole 15. Blues were playing 168 with a blue flag. Took out the 8 Iron and proceeded to hit the shot of the day. Ball was tracking nice fading in from left to right. I watch the ball hit the green but where the tee box was and the fact the pin was below elevation, I lost sight of it. I walked to my left to see if I could see the ball and was still unsure due to my sight line.

In my group was a friend Paul Chapman who was playing from the white tees, so he was standing on those blocks and did not see it from there either. After Paul hit his into the bunker on the sand, I said to Paul, “I think the ball is in the hole”. Paul did a small laugh and then we walked up and onto the green to see no ball in sight. As we walked up, I started a video on my phone, and you can clearly see my ball mark on the green and then we followed it right into the hole.

I was playing with a father and son (Blaine and Blaine Jr.) on a sunny Friday afternoon after work.

The 8th hole was playing 191 yards downwind with the flag at the front of the green just over a hump. I hit 6 iron and it was in line with the hole, but we couldn’t see it. I was expecting to see the ball roll up the hill past the hole, but it never appeared. One of my playing partners said, “I think that might be in” but I had my doubts. 

As we approached the green, the ball was still nowhere to be seen. I walked to the hole and sure enough it was there. I’m not sure who was more excited – me or my playing partners – but it was a special moment. The rest of the round was a great time for all of us.

Got my hole-in-one on August 16 at Dakota Dunes Golf Links while playing with my regular weekly senior golf group. It happened on the par 3, 6th hole, approximately 155 yards with a 9 iron. There was a small  bush in our line of site so we didn’t see it go in.

So, on Saturday I was playing in an amateur tournament in Kamloops, B.C., hole number 4, literally 4th hole of my tournament. I was playing with three others named Wyatt, Taylor and Aaron. Yardage was about 149 so I hit a comfortable pitching wedge. It landed one foot behind the pin and spun in. I ended up finding out that it was on the money hole, and I won monetary prize on my first ever ace!
