Each week we write to Golf Canada members who record a hole-in-one, congratulating them and asking if they’d tell us how it happened. These are their stories (edited for length and clarity).
Have you recently accomplished the feat of a hole-in-one? Tell us about it! Share your story, picture / video and course information with us at holeinone@golfcanada.ca.
Gail Ross, Galt Country Club, Hole #16
This was my fifth hole-in-one and the second that I have had at the 16th hole. The hole was playing 125 yards and I hit my 5 hybrid with a yellow Callaway Super Soft ball. My playing partner’s name was Mary Durocher.
Lisa Weagle, Old Quarry Golf Course, Hole #16
I got a hole-in-one on hole #16 at Old Quarry Golf Course while on vacation in Curacao with my husband, Robin. It was 100 yards into the wind. I used my 7 iron and lucky for me, I didn't hit it great. The ball went a bit to the right, bounced off a hill, and rolled left across the green right into the hole! The tee box is higher than the green and we watched it happen as if it were in slow motion, then we lost it when we realized I had a hole-in-one! It's my third year of golfing and Robin got me into the game, so it was special to celebrate this fun moment with him.
Alex Heuton, Scarlett Woods Golf Club, Hole #9
I was playing with my friend Kyle the day before his wedding, along with my friends Mike and Andrew. The hole was playing just over 170 yards and I hit a soft 7 iron.
Brian Jamieson, Bridges Golf Course, Hole #7
On May 29th I made a hole-in-one at the Bridges Golf Course in Manitoba. It was the 7th hole, a par 3 measuring 142 yards that day and I used an 8 iron. My foursome consisted of Bob Fitchener, Dave Rowe and Steven Milligan. It was a great swing that landed probably 20 feet short and rolled straight into the cup.
My partner Bob got to the green first and didn’t see anything so walked straight to the cup and yelled “it’s in the hole”. It was only then that we had a little celebration and high fives all around. It took about five or six more holes for it to sink in, it was my first ace and nobody else in my group had ever made one, so it was pretty exciting.I’m 63 and have been golfing for 52 years and I’m glad I made one now because it was a bucket list item for me.
Chuck Meyers, Whistle Bear Golf Club, Hole #17
My hole-in-one at Whistle Bear Golf Club occurred on June 7, 2023. My playing partner, Sean Wilson, and I actually saw the ball disappear into the hole from the tee. It is the first of my three-career hole-in-ones that I saw go in. It occurred on the 17th hole, which was 164 yards that day from the blue tees. I hit a 5 iron and it took the slope of the green and disappeared into the cup.
Craig McMorris, Nicklaus North Golf Club, Hole #12
It was hole #12 at Nicklaus North and it was pretty much entirely over water. To the front edge was 150 yards and the pin was about 158 just slightly to the left. I hit a soft 8 iron which rolled straight in.
Darcy Smith, Spallumcheen Golf and Country Club, Hole #12
I was with most of my regular crew including Cliff Riemer, Randy Murdoch and my 80-year-old dad Syd Smith but we were missing Marcel Ducharme. On May 2nd at Spallumcheen Golf & Country Club we were on hole #12, 157 yards to a front red pin. The wind was in our face, and I decided to hit a smooth 7 iron. Well, I must say I hit it pretty well, the ball went straight at the stick and hit the ground a few paces in front of the green, it appeared to hop a couple times and rolled straight into the cup! My playing partners Cliff and Randy all got excited and high fived me! Dad was sitting in his cart doing what he does best, eating. I’m happy my dad got to be there for it.
David Rossall, Dear Creek Golf Club, Hole #5
I was playing with my brother Wayne Rossall, my nephew John Alcott and Jeff Eadie. We play closest to pin on par 3’s and I had the last shot. Nobody was on the green, so it was wide open. I originally had a pitching wedge in my hand but watching all the other shots I thought let’s change it to a 9 iron. The hole was 135 yards that day. As soon as I hit it all I heard was, “that’s got a chance.” I hit the ball as perfectly as I ever could, and it bounced twice and in the hole. I let out a yell and so did everyone I was playing with, the best feeling ever to have in the game of golf. I’m 61 years old and have been playing for 41 years.
Doug Williams, Bearspaw Golf Club, Hole #5
I was golfing at my home course of Bearspaw Golf and Country Club in Calgary, Alberta. The club is in fantastic shape! We were playing in a men’s night tournament, and I was with three of my good friends (Trevor Davies, Jarvis Nichol and Ryan Stewart). We golf religiously together on Thursday nights. It was hole #5 which was playing 131 yards into a bit of a breeze. I used a TaylorMade 9 iron. Needless to say, hitting one of these early in the golf season at men’s night on my home course was an unbelievable experience! It was the first of my life (hopefully not the last).
Eric Normore, Fort McMurray Golf Course, Hole #4
I got a hole-in-one at Fort McMurray Golf Course. The club used was a RBZ 5 wood by TaylorMade. I was playing with Cathy Normore, Carly Davis and Grayden Northey.
Eric Stinson, Blue Ocean Golf Club, Hole #6
Hole #6 at Blue Ocean is a par 3 which measured 198 yards. I hit an 8 iron to a middle pin, and it hopped in!
Finley Steube, The Links at Penn Hills, Hole #15
I was playing with my two friends, Findlay Conacher and Sam Tanenbaum. I hit a 46-degree wedge on the par 3 which is 135 yards. It landed softly on the green and rolled down into the hole.
Gareth Seys, Talking Rock Golf Course, Hole #1
I got a hole-in-one at Talking Rock Golf Course in Chase, B.C. yesterday! It was on hole #6, 174 yards off the yellow tees.
Greg Morris, Taboo Golf Course, Hole #15
I recently made my first ever hole-in-one at Taboo Golf Course in Gravenhurst! I was playing with my buddy Mitchell and Tyler Seguin who plays for the Dallas Stars. I made the ace on the 140-yard 15th hole using an 8 iron with a Pro V1 golf ball.
Ian Robbie, Lively Golf Club, Hole #14
It was 168 yards with an 8 iron from the tips. Also, I was golfing with two brothers that I was randomly paired up with.
Jill Kubica, Noth Shuswap Golf Club, Hole #7
It was during our Anglemont Estates Ladies’ Golf Club Thursday tee time. I was playing with Doris Hunter, Marie Newton and Brenda Buffel (we are all members of the Anglemont Estates Ladies’ Golf Club). I used my 7 iron and I am not certain of the yardage. The score card says 142 yards from the white tees, but there is no yardage on the score card for the red tees. I’m guessing the yardage was somewhere around 125 yards from the red tees.
Manuela Newell, Riverbend Golf Community, Hole #5
It was a surprise and we all got to see it go in the hole! It was Tuesday while playing in the ladies’ league with three ladies who graciously congratulated me, Bev Padfield, Louise Morin and Daryle Pryde. I used my 9 iron for a 90-yard shot. My only thought was to get closest to the pin, as every Tuesday we have closest to the pin contests. Putting the ball in the hole wasn’t even on my mind. So needless to say, I was a happy golfer. This was my third hole-in-one, and it was as exciting as the others. These unexpected happenings on the golf course keep me coming back.
Pat Varley, Seaview Golf and Country Club, Hole #14
I was golfing with my husband, Colin. It was a windy but sunny day at Seaview Golf and Country Club in North Sydney Cape Breton. Colin and I decided to leave our previous golf course after 12 years and join Seaview.
We were on an elevated tee with my golf watch indicating 137 yards. The course had just recently opened for the year so, before I let my bad habits get established, I was just concentrating on the very basics of golf, mostly just keeping my head down. I carefully brought my 5 wood around and fortunately, the ball came off my club just the way I wanted. The bright red Callaway ball soared through the air, landed at the front of the green and rolled toward the hole located in the center of the green and just disappeared. It felt like I was watching the whole scene in slow motion.
I don’t remember too much about the following holes because I was in such a mental state. After the game, when I was returning the golf cart key to the pro shop, I couldn’t hide my excitement about the 14th hole and told the staff about the hole-in-one. I must say the staff was so happy and excited for me, it just pleasantly took me by surprise and enhanced the feeling of the accomplishment. The flag that was given to me by Seaview Golf Club will be signed by their golf pro, Lorne Jennex, who was the very first person who gave me a golf lesson approximately 40 years ago. I hope every golfer gets to experience the feeling of a hole-in-one.
Peter Cocciolo, Fernie Golf and Country Club, Hole #16
I was playing hole #16 at the Fernie Golf Course, where I am a member. The distance was 158 yards to a middle pin. I hit a 7 iron straight at it and the ball bounced on the front part of the green then rolled up the rest of the way and disappeared into the hole. I was playing with my wife, Jane, and friends, Jamey and Karen Farr.
Raymond Barkwill, Cowichan Golf and Country Club, Hole #13
It was in our inter-club match (Harry Young) against Highland Pacific. It was on hole #13 from 121 yards and I hit a gap wedge.
Ron Boychuk, Royal Regina Golf Club, Hole #7
I was playing golf with three co-workers after work. The hole was uphill, 132 yards to a two-tiered green. The pin was on the upper tier. There was a left to right wind as per usual in Saskatchewan. I used an easy 8 iron, hit it short, left of the pin about eight feet. It took a kick and we all saw it roll toward the flag and then disappear. None of us believed our eyes until I pulled the ball from the hole.
Shota Ishizawa, Aberdeen Glen Golf Club, Hole #8
I was playing with Rick Cooper and Ralph Posteraro at Aberdeen Glen Golf Club. I used a 9 iron from 164 yards out. It was a front pin and the ball hit the fringe then disappeared into the hole. A day I will never forget!
Tim Stewart, Lookout Point, Hole #8
I made a hole-in-one at Lookout Point on hole #8 with a 7 wood into the wind. It was my eighth hole-in-one and sixth at Lookout. When I hit the shot, I thought I was a bit right of the hole, but the playing partners thought it was good. Getting to the elevated green, a playing partner investigated the hole and saw the ball.
Trevor Warke, Ardmore Golf Course, Hole #10
My hole-in-one was at my home club Ardmore Golf Club on June 9, 2023. At the time, I was golfing with Ken, Dan and Si. It was on the back nine 102 yards, and I used a pitching wedge. This is my second hole-in-one, my first was in Alberta 32 years ago at Wolf Creek Golf Resort. Now I’m trying for my third!
Victor Bijendra, Langara Golf Course, Hole #8
I was playing with George Mak, Barry Guarino and Niall Boag. I played with a 7 iron, and it was 122 yards.
Xavier Després, South Cove Golf, Hole #7
Great moment!

Matthew Kasujja, Greystone Golf Club, Hole #11
This past Monday at around 5pm in the evening, I stood on the 11th tee playing a match with my buddy Sameer. At the time I was two shots behind in a gruesome match. Little did I know that this picturesque hole would become the stage for a moment that will forever be etched in my memory. I embarked on an unforgettable and remarkable journey.
I stood 170 yards out from a blue pin that was tucked into the back-right corner of the green. I was only ‘armed’ with my trusty Srixon 6 iron. I swung the club effortlessly and launched the ball into the air. I had hit the sweet spot. A small space of time seemed to stand still as Titleist #91 gracefully sailed through the clear blue sky, as though guided by an invisible force. The trajectory seemed to be a little right of the flag and I expected that the ball might have rolled through the undulating green to the back.
As we approached the green, we both started searching around and could not find it. But then, in that single instant, a euphoric rush engulfed me, as I looked into the hole, I saw then that I had accomplished the extraordinary. A sense of elation mingled with a humbling awe, at the gravity of such a feat. To be among the chosen few who have conquered this challenging course is an honor that words cannot fully capture.
The rest of the back-nine was a blur, I seemed to walk on a cloud as I shot one over on the back with five pars and three bogeys. I posted a final score of 83 which is two under my course handicap.
As I reflect on this unforgettable experience, I am reminded of the timeless allure of golf—a sport that humbles, challenges, uplifts, and rewards in equal measure. The 11th hole at Greystone will serve as a testament to that. I think I can now hang up my cleated boots…or should I?
Please excuse my embarrassing dancing.
Denise Cadieux, Camelot Golf and Country Club, Hole #11
This is Helen Banning, the witness of the hole-in-one!
Denise was on hole #11 when she hit the ball with her 7 wood. Only one of us saw the ball skip over the right bunker and take one hop into the hole. It wasn’t until Denise walked up to the hole that we knew for sure. It was Denise’s first hole-in-one.
Jean-Pierre Galipeault, Cabot Cliffs, Hole #6
I was playing with friends Dave, Tony and Dano at beautiful Cabot Cliffs in Inverness, N.S. The "Dunes" 6th hole was playing 159 yards and the back pin placement meant we couldn't see the hole from the tee box. I hit a 9 iron short and played the drop to the back of the green. We didn't see it go in the hole and had no idea it was in until we noticed one ball was missing. It was a nice surprise! Great trip, amazing course and a wonderful experience.
Al Gibson, Highland Country Club, Hole #10
It was on hole #10 which is 165 yards. I used a 5 hybrid, and it was during our men’s league play. Thanks.
Alice Melanson, East Bay Golf Club, Hole #4
It was quite a surprise and a good feeling to make my second hole-in-one in eight months. My first one was on August 1, 2022, on hole #4 at Pine Needle. This second hole-in-one was on hole #14 at East Bay in Florida. I was golfing with my husband Mike Melanson, my sister-in-law Claire Roy and her husband Garry Roy. It was 128 yards over water, and I used my 5 hybrid (the same club as my first hole-in-one). I really like that club! The ball bounced once and then into the hole it went.
Anna Caron, Larters at St. Andrews, Hole #12
Thanks for letting me share this great experience which I never thought would happen! It was a very windy day, and I used my 5 wood. I hit my ball up in the air and when it landed on the green it was heading right for the hole. Three of us saw it go in, my cousin Darlene Caron, my friend Maureen Switzer and myself. Wow, what a feeling! Once up on the green, I was still hesitant to look in the hole. I play in a travelling league and on May 23rd we were playing Larter’s at St. Andrews. I hope everyone who loves the game of golf as much as I do will be lucky enough to get a hole-in-one someday.
Brad Sammon, Renfrew Golf Club, Hole #4
I made my hole-in-one at Renfrew Golf Club in Renfrew, Ontario on May 28th, 2023. I was playing with my sons, Carter Sammon and Jackson Sammon. The yardage was playing about 200 to a front hole location. I hit a 4 hybrid that rolled my Bridgestone ball into the cup! Thanks for sharing my story!
Bretten Roissl, Inglewood Golf and Curling Club, Hole #17
It was the 17th at Inglewood Golf and Curling Club in Calgary, Alberta. The first real round in Alberta since moving here, first tournament as well. It was 198 yards, and I used my 6 iron. We couldn’t see the ball it was so bright and didn’t know until we got to the green. However, I had a weird feeling about it. I asked my playing partners if they ever got a hole-in-one on the way up to the green. After checking the cup, they couldn’t believe it!
It was in the YYC Open which is an Alberta golf tour event. What a time to do it! With a customized TaylorMade TP5x.
Cross it off the bucket list!
Bruce Rowsell, Kanata Golf and Country Club, Hole #13
I was playing with my wife, Mary Rowsell, and David and Sheila Reeve. The 13th hole is 143 yards from the white trees but played a little longer with a blue flag. It’s a raised green which has a ridge running across the middle which means that I could not see the hole. I was searching for the ball on the downslope beyond the green when my wife found it in the cup. I used a Titleist 7 wood for the shot.
Bruce Rowsell
Carolyn Gorrill, McKenzie Meadows Golf Club, Hole #7
It was certainly an amazing moment for me to get a hole-in-one at McKenzie Meadows Golf Club. It was on my bucket list and now I can put a checkmark beside that accomplishment. I was playing with my husband Gregg Koenig and a single golfer who joined us by the name of Cody Dean. We were on the 7th hole, and I was playing my shot from 142 yards. We saw it land on the green but didn’t see it go in the hole. Both Gregg and Cody were on the green before me and as I walked up to the green, I knew something special happened. Both Gregg and Cody turned and looked at me with a huge smile! Funny story about the club I used, I’ve had my 7 wood in my bag for 25 years. I continue to hit it consistently 150-160 yards. After I purchased new clubs two years ago my husband and son said to me “never get rid of that 7 wood” so I didn’t and now I never will.
Best regards,
Carolyn
Charlene Doucet, Hampton Golf Club, Hole #7
I don’t think I’ll ever forget my hole-in-one. It was really exciting to see the ball drop into the hole from behind after watching it sit there for a few seconds. The club I used was my new Callaway Max OS Lite 8 Iron from a distance of 109 yards. I have a group of girls that golf every Thursday and they were my witnesses. I had been saying to them “okay girls…let’s get a hole-in-one today”. Power of positive thinking. Also, yesterday I shot my best round of 77 (it’s my year). Thanks again for acknowledging my hole-in-one.
Chris Buffi, Coal Creek Golf Resort, Hole #4
Thank you so much for the email. I was playing with two coworkers, Kyle and Russ. The hole had a middle-left pin, and it was playing 142 yards. I used a 46-degree wedge.
Curtis Whelan, Glendenning Golf Course, Hole #4
In the wind and rain, I hit a 9 iron into the wind that took one hop and rolled straight into the cup. The first hole-in-one of my life and I don’t think I’ve ever been so excited. The worst part is that I was so excited I flubbed my next tee shot about 20 yards off the tee.
Dale LaGrange, Turner Valley Golf Club, Hole #5
I played with Larry Porier, Ron Zastre, and Rick Quine. It was on hole #5, 147 yards and used a 9 iron.
David Barry, Tobiano Golf Course, Hole #12
Wow…what an exciting moment. I’m nearly 60 and I have golfed on and off since my teens. But I have really picked up the game again in the last 10 years. My ace occurred May 21st on the 12th hole at the beautiful Tobiano Golf Course. It was 149 yards and I hit an easy 5 iron. The ball landed six paces in front of the pin, bounced once and then rolled nicely before disappearing into the cup. I’m a 20 handicap…so I don’t know who was more surprised, my partners Mike and Trevor, or I. We had an early tee time, and no one was in the clubhouse when we wrapped up. So, I bought a round for everyone there…Mike, Trevor and myself!
Dennis Finch, Barcovan Golf Club, Hole #11
I was playing with three of my teammates on our Monday men’s league. I scored the ace on #11 which is 120 yards with a 9 iron.
A picture was not taken that day; however, this is a picture taken on the same day, May 22, two years ago when I aced another hole at Barcovan! Lucky date for me!
Dennis Finch
Donna Davis, Garrison Golf Club, Hole #13
I got my hole-in-one on hole #13 at Garrison, in Kingston, Ontario.
Douglas Corrigan, Guelph Lakes Country Club, Hole #2
On May 22nd, I achieved my first hole-in-one at Guelph Lakes Country Club, Guelph, Ontario.
It was on hole #2 using a gap wedge. 104 yards after a 45-minute frost delay. It was witnessed by Michael Mahony and two late joiners visiting from Calgary.
Eugene Shereshevsky, Lakeview Golf Club, Hole #17
I was playing Lakeview Golf Club with my friends Patrick Booth and Tyler Hall. Lakeview’s 17th hole is a short par three (95 yards) but with a tricky green that slopes from the back to the front.
It was a front pin playing 90 yards that day. I used a lob wedge, hit it right at the pin, the ball landed close, took one hop past the hole and spun back into the hole. We all celebrated; I think the whole course could hear us. I went on to shoot my best round ever of 70.
Fred Yack, King’s Riding Golf Club, Hole #16
I was playing with two old friends Chris Giannou and Ron Bartucci. Chris and Ron were buddies from the old Board of Trade Golf Course. We moved over to King’s Riding when they closed down our beautiful Country Club after 45 glorious years. By the way, I will be celebrating my 85th birthday on June 8, 2023. I have played this marvelous game for roughly 67 years and hopefully for a number of years to come. The actual date of the hole-in-one was Victoria Day May 22, 2023. The yardage on the hole was 140 yards. I used a Callaway Big Bertha 8 hybrid purchased specifically for that distance. I got rid of my 4 iron, 5 iron and 6 iron and replaced them with a 4 hybrid, 6 hybrid, 7 hybrid and 8 hybrid. I might add I was very surprised that the shot was as good as it was. It was high, straight and was not a degree off line. Another interesting point to my hole-in-one was that the ball used was a TaylorMade ball that had been found by Ron and he gave it to me.
I am not bragging but this is my sixth hole-in-one that I’ve had. Even though it was a great shot we all know there is luck involved in getting that little ball in the hole. Thank you for commemorating my event.
Fred
Gerry Tresierra, Big Horn Golf Course, Hole #17
I got my first hole-in-one after 45 years of golfing. It was gratifying to get this before I get too old to golf and it was special to get it on men’s night! It was 100 yards, slightly uphill with an aiding wind on #17 at Big Horn Golf Course in Kamloops!
Holly Chandler, Chester Golf Club, Hole #2
Thank you very much, it was a lovely day. It was my second hole-in-one and was very exciting. It was on hole two, which is 128 yards. I used a (Calloway Rogue) 4 hybrid. I was playing with Barb Bond, Brian Bond and Gary Graves. It was a lovely day at our beautiful Chester Golf Club.
Have a wonderful day,
Holly Chandler
Irene Ottenhof, Landings Golf Course, Hole #15
It was a lovely day. I was golfing with Astrid Barber and Maija Burton. It was the 15th hole and about 111 yards into a hefty wind. My club was a Ping 5 hybrid.
Jason Mabley, Innerlip Highlands Golf Course, Hole #2
I was playing with two longtime friends, Derek Adam and Dave Vogel. This was my third hole-in-one, and it was 140 yards with a 9 iron. This was my second hole-in-one with a 9 iron. The other was a 4 hybrid 190 yards. Innerkip is one of our favourite courses.
Thanks again.
Jason Mabley
Joel Reilly, Wildfire Golf Club, Hole #15
Hey! I hit a low flighted 6 iron into the wind about 168 yards.
John Miholics, Chedoke Golf Club, Hole #8
Thanks, much appreciated!
John Usher, Lac La Biche Golf and Country Club, Hole #17
Well, it took 37 years to get another one but a different spin on this one. It was at Lac La Biche Golf & Country Club on the 17th par 4 hole which is 257 yards. It must have been my new Titleist TSI driver. The hole-in-one was witnessed by Gary Harman and Tony Nowicki. Never would I have thought that my second hole-in-one would be on a par 4. Always a nice feeling.
Kevin Magill, Riverside Golf Club, Hole #14
I was delighted with my effort on May 17th (which also happens to be my son’s birthday!) I’ve been playing golf since I was 13 years old, so it only took me 45 years to achieve this milestone! I played last Wednesday in the Riverside Senior Men’s Wednesday draw, as I do each week (I am also the webmaster for the club). I played with Derek Edwards, Randy Talbot and Ken May (the latter leaving us after the front nine, so he missed my Michael Block emulating shot).
Although a short and supposedly ‘easy’ par 3, a mere 125 yards and a stroke index of 18, the 14th at Riverside in Edmonton has an elevated green, some 20 feet higher than the tee box. With a transverse slope, the hole is quite challenging. It’s fair to say I hardly ever put the ball on the deck, making this effort all the sweeter! I celebrate if I’m within ten feet of the pin on my second shot, let alone my tee shot.
On this occasion, the pin was in the middle of the green and the hole was playing around 135 yards. I took my wedge, teed up my Titleist 2, and hit it flush. My shot tracked straight as an arrow for the pin. My playing partners both congratulated me on my shot, and I figured it would be close, but being an elevated green, I could not see the landing or where it ended up.
Once I got up to the green, I saw a ball about 10 feet from the pin which I assumed to be mine. Upon checking, it was not. I then looked along the fringes of the green thinking my ball must have rolled off and settled in the second cut. My playing partner, Randy, checked the hole and low and behold, there she was – Titleist 2 smiling up at me from the bottom of the cup! No need for the putter. An eagle on that par 3 was nice, but unfortunately didn’t help my overall score, I shot 99 on the day.
Thanks for your interest.
Kevin Magill
Kyle Rossiter, Edmonton Petroleum Golf and Country Club, Hole #13
It was quite a day. It was Victoria Day, and I was playing with my wife, Dena Rossiter, but just behind us were my three regular golf friends, Jason Jenkins, Ziad Sheena and Jeff Alliston.
The 13th tee box is directly perpendicular (separated by a small pond) from the 12th fairway. So, as I was teeing off my close friends were in the fairway and watched me hit. They couldn’t see it go in, but I was able to turn to them and started yelling that it was in. My wife didn’t know what to do. I asked her to tee off and then we will check the cup. Sure enough it was in.
The hole was 120 yards from the blue tees. I hit a 60-degree wedge and it landed about three feet short right with draw spin (I’m a lefty). I heard the audible “click” and watched it disappear.
I was so lucky to have some of my friends with me and my wife to enjoy some beers after. Sadly, I dunked that ball into the water on the next hole on the approach. Win some, lose some.
Leo Burns Scully, Donalda Club, Hole #3
My story actually starts about a week before my round when I found a very fresh looking ProV1x that said “NICE” on the side of the ball while playing a round. I thought that this would be a good ball to get my first hole-in-one with, so I stored it in my bag and only used it on par threes moving forward. I played one or two more rounds after that day but still no hole-in-one with the special ball.
However, over the long weekend I was playing with my partner and two of our friends. On hole #3, (the first par 3) I teed up with my normal golf ball only to realize I had forgotten to get my “NICE” golf ball out for the par 3. I explained what I was doing to my playing partners, and they laughed at me, but I went back to my bag and teed up the “NICE” ball. It was 184 yards, and I hit a lovely 8 iron draw. It landed about eight feet short of the pin, and it rolled in. It was written that I would get my hole-in-one with that ball! We celebrated well!
Linda Wilson, Highwood Golf & Country Club, Hole #6
I recorded my third hole-in-one at my home course in High River, Alberta on May 24th. I was playing in our regular Wednesday ladies’ group with Carol, Arlene and Lee Anne.
I hit a nice 7 iron 100 yards and it landed on the green and rolled toward the hole. It looked like it was going right in, and the ladies all said it dropped, but I didn’t want to get too excited until I saw my pink Bridgestone ball in the bottom of the cup.
It was very exciting as it had been 22 years since my last one and I wasn’t sure it would ever happen again.
Luca Dichio, Oakville Executive Golf Course, Hole #11
I was playing with three of my buddies from Etobicoke and wasn’t having the greatest of rounds. I strolled up to the 11th and shot a pitching wedge from the tee (151 yards) and watched it fly straight at the pin. It took one hop and rolled right in. One of the best feelings ever! I didn’t believe it until I saw it in the hole!
Mario Demello, Ashburn Golf Club, Hole #5
It was hole #5 playing 160 yards and I used a 6 iron. I played with Garry Paton, Dwayne Gaudet and Roger Sinclair.
Mark Acheson, Legends on the Niagara, Hole #17
I was with Josh Snoek and Austin Kuiack and we were paired with Anthony Gladue. The pin was at the front, so I had 141 yards slightly into the wind and I used a wedge (47 degree).
Thanks,
Mark
Maurizio Camilletti, St. Andrews East Golf Club, Hole #14
This was a great and special feeling to experience for the second time in less than a year. The yardage was 157 yards, and I used an 8 iron.
Thank you and best regards!
Maurizio Camilletti
Mitch Davis Mann, Dragons Fire Golf Club, Hole #17
It was a great day for sure! I was playing with my friend Cyril. It was the 17th hole at Dragons Fire Golf Club. A small hole surrounded by water; I believe the yardage was 116 that day. I used my 60° wedge and landed it about a foot past the pin and it spun back and dropped right in the hole.
All the best,
Mitch
Norma Columbus, Banff Springs Golf Course, Hole #8
I had a hole-in-one on #8 of the Stanley Thompson Course at Banff Springs Golf Course during the Alberta Golf Upswing event.
Paul Madgett, Nanton Golf Club, Hole #3
I was golfing with Cameron King as well as the town of Nanton hockey, music and golf legend Felix Endres. The hole was 162 yards and Cameron had just hit his shot to three feet. I then hit it and incredibly it went in. I was using an old Ping G10 28-degree hybrid that once belonged to my dad.
Randy Yee, Delta Golf Club, Hole #13
It’s the second hole-in-one I’ve had, but the first since 1993. I was playing with a group of 12 but Todd, Chad and Jeremy were in my group. It was the 13th hole, 90 yards but playing about 100 into a slight breeze. I used my gap wedge, landed it about 12 inches in front of the hole and the ball rolled in.
Ray Barkwill, Cowichan Golf and Country Club, Hole #13
I hit a hole-in-one at Cowichan Golf and Country Club. On hole #13 I used a gap wedge from 119 yards.
Cheers,
Raymond
Richard Lim, Sleepy Hollow Golf & Country Club, Hole #6
Thank you for the congratulatory note. It was indeed a special moment. I was playing with my wife, Bella, and a Korean couple, Miyung Kim and Mikyung Song, who are very skilled golfers. It was quite surreal to watch the ball hop a couple of times and roll into the hole. The sixth hole at Sleepy Hollow Golf and Country Club plays 170 yards from the white tees. I used a 5 iron on the shot.
Riley MacIsaac, Antigonish Golf and Country Club, Hole #12
Hey there,
I was playing with my brother, Patrik MacIsaac. We always compete against each other as we are really similar golfers. The yardage was 165 yards, and I used a 7 iron.
Thanks!
Rob Brown, Paragon Golf and Country Club, Hole #7
I recorded my hole-in-one at Paragon Golf & Country Club in Kingston, Nova Scotia. It was on hole #7, with a 7 iron, during Men’s League. The distance was 179 yards, playing slightly downhill and down wind.
Scott McCharles, Willow Ridge Golf and Country Club, Hole #5
I got my hole-in-one (the first for me) on April 27th on hole #5 at Willow Ridge. We were playing from the blue tees. The laser said it was 142 yards and I hit an 8 iron. I was playing with my golf buddies Doug King and Ken Pickering. Lunch that day was on me!
Shane Dyck, Pine Ridge Golf Club, Hole #14
It was a 177-yard par 3 with a 6 iron.
I became an adaptive golfer after I was initially paralyzed from below the neck and given a 1% chance to walk again. My whole spine was fused with metal after a 12-hour surgery and doctors said I would be in a power chair for the rest of my life. I am beyond grateful for how the game of golf has helped me throughout my injury, both mentally and physically.
Tammy Kondryshyn, Transcona Golf Club, Hole #8
Good day!
My hole-in-one was my very first in thirty years of golf. Approximately 128 yards away, I selected my 9 iron and there was a slight cross wind. I hit the ball and it was not my best strike at it as it was going towards the sand trap.
It hit the edge and started going towards the pin. We were watching it and it looked like it was going towards the back sand trap. We both looked at each other and said, “do you think it went in?”
We start to video as we roll up to the pin and then boom the ball is in the cup! We both screamed and laughed! What a way to end my round at ladies’ night.
Into the club house we went to celebrate, and I bought shots for everyone. As I walk in, the girls behind the bar say congrats! Thank you for listening to my very exciting hole-in-one story.
Terry Rockwood, Eaglequest Grandview Golf & Country Club, Hole #7
My hole-in-one happened on the 150-yard seventh hole at Grandview Golf Course in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. I used a 4 hybrid for the shot from a pushed back tee box to a blue flag. I was playing with Paul Gallivan, who is the nephew of the famed Hockey Night in Canada announcer Danny Gallivan. A few years before, Paul was playing with my buddy Cordell Poirier when he got a hole-in-one on the same hole. As Cordell’s ball was in the air heading toward the flag, Paul was doing a play-by-play of the event. When my ball went in the hole, I turned to Paul and said, “You didn’t do the play-by-play”. We had a laugh and proceeded to the green to retrieve the ball from the hole. Like many long-time golfers, I have been close multiple times, but it took 56 years to finally get a hole-in-one.
Tim Salisbury, Carne Golf Links, Hole #5
Carne Golf Links is in Belmullet, Ireland. It was the first round of our golf trip (six total rounds) in which 20 of us went. It was the fifth hole, a 155-yard par 3. I was playing alongside Bryan Rothery, Chuck Hitchen and Rick Meyers. I hit a pitching wedge and not one of us, including the forecaddie, saw it go in. The forecaddie thought it might have rolled to the back of the green. When we approached the green, we didn’t see it and started to look around. It wasn’t until the other three started playing out the hole that one of the guys’ went to pick out his ball from the cup and discovered it. Amazing start to an unforgettable trip to Ireland.
Willie Bruce, Race Brook Country Club, Hole #12
It occurred on Saturday, May 27 at Race Brook Country Club. It was on hole #12, a 195-yard par 3 and I used a Ping G425 5 hybrid. I was playing a Taylor Made TP5x golf ball. My playing partners were my son, Steve Bruce, and Dave Germain.
Golf Canada Hole-In-One Report – May 26, 2023

Andy Pritchard, Rocky Crest Golf Club, Hole #5
My playing partners and good buddies, Rob White (Port Carling GC), Brent Kelly (Georgian Bay Club), Dan Brown (Georgian Bay Club) myself from (Georgian Bay Club) were the foursome for the day. The hole measured 135 yards. I used a 9 iron. One bounce and in!
Thanks again.
Anthony DeMizio, Cherry Hill Club, Hole #16
I was with three friends, Blake, Adam and Jordan. Happened at Cherry Hill Golf Club on hole #16 which measured 138 yards.
My fourth career hole-in-one!
Anthony Dunn, White Sands, Hole #16
Anthony Dunn got his hole-in-one on May 21st while he was with his dad. They were celebrating his dad’s 70th birthday. What a gift that was to witness a son getting his hole-in-one on the first hole.
What a way to start the day of celebrations. They were playing at White Sands in Orleans.
Proud dad and mom!
Janyce (Anthony’s mom)
Barry Louks, Remington Parkview Golf and Country Club, Hole #17
It was on the 17th hole – 110 yards with a 9 iron. I played with Bob Forrester, Peter Littlejohn and Lloyd Ono. At the end of last year, Lloyd Ono had a hole-in-one on the upper course at Remington with the same group of old hockey players.
Barry Loucks
Bob Jones, Glencairn Golf Club, Hole #12
This is my third hole-in-one…still a bunch more to come. It was 177 yards with a 5 iron. I was playing with some great golfers: Swanny, Timmy, and JZ, who are all original members at Glencarin and great hosts.
All the best,
Bobby Jones
Brian Smolik, Inglewood Golf and Curling Club, Hole #15
The yardage was 162 and I hit a nice high 6 iron that landed about a foot from the hole and rolled in. First ace! I was playing with Rob Karch, Garth Caron, Jim Walsh and Calvin Traub.
Carson Foxcroft, Burlington Golf and Country Club, Hole #15
Details:
– Hole #15 at Burlington Golf & Country Club
– 167 yards
– 8 iron
– Back left pin placement
– Accompanied by Randy Ambrosie, Steve Foxcroft (who insisted it was off the back of the green) and JD Foxcroft (who insisted it was in the hole)!
Chris Gittleman, Roseland Golf and Curling Club, Hole #8
It was a tremendous moment. Quite a shock and thrill to watch that ball disappear.
I hit a 5 iron from 176 yards. Wind was slightly into and off the right. The flag was in the front left. The ball pitched once about five feet right of the flag and rolled in. I played with Joe Braidford and Andrew Butler, two guys I met on the first hole that day. The group on the 9th tee waiting to hit also saw it go in. It was a very special moment. It was my first ace and first time under par (35) as I found a way to make a par on nine right after all the commotion and celebration. I really enjoy being a member of Golf Canada for these neat reasons.
Chris Szostak, Surrey Golf Club, Hole #13
It was exciting to say the least!
I’m always trying for the ace, but when it happened, I was shocked that it did. I was playing with my regular “Firefighters Golf Club” (150+ members) in the Lower Mainland of B.C., at Surrey Golf and Country Club. I moved foursomes that day to balance the groups out as they were short one golfer, with my regular group right on our tails.
Two had teed off already and put their balls 15’ and 25’ feet from the pin.
My time to tee off, 148 yards, white flag, middle pin, slight head wind, 8 iron should do the trick! My natural shot shape is a slight butter cut, so the right edge of the bunker on the front left of the green was my target point. Perfect contact, good shot shape, though it was cutting a bit too much, it landed on the green about 18 feet from the pin and took one bounce then into the cup and disappeared! For a split second it didn’t register that it went in, it happened so fast. The roars from myself, Mike Rudnisky, Mark Burton and Randy Simons were heard several holes away. I was told after “That wasn’t just a PIZZA KP celebration, that had to be a hole-in-one”, by another group on the fifth green.
Thank goodness our Firefighter golf club has hole-in-one insurance, so everyone in the club got a beer! Yes, I still did buy a couple rounds for my playing partners that day. Worth every penny.
Chris
Dave Worlin, Glendale Golf Club, Hole #2
I was playing with three of my buddies who are members: Marco DiCienzo, Connor MacTaggart and Chris Adoranti.I used to be a member as a junior and student, however, I started to work in Toronto so I couldn’t find the time to play enough to justify a membership at the adult rate. The yardage on the Bushnell was 162 downhill and playing downwind. The club I used was an 8 iron.
Thanks again,
Dave
Derek Jones, Beverly Golf and Country Club, Hole #4
It was my second hole-in-one. I was playing with my wife, Irene, and friends, John and Deb. The 4th hole at Beverly GCC was playing 158 and I used a 7 iron. The ball landed on the front of the green and took one hop and went in the hole.
The other members at Beverly were happy for me because they enjoyed free drinks in the clubhouse with the insurance!
Derek Jones
Don DesCotes, The Quarry, Hole #8
My hole-in-one came on Slate # 8 at The Quarry in Edmonton. I play from Deck 3 which indicated 138 yards. It was playing approximately 125 yards into a slight breeze. I used my 9 iron at about 80% of a full swing. I saw the ball bounce twice, roll, and disappear into the hole. I was playing with friends Ken and Lewis.
I am 67 years old and have been golfing for 45+ years. I have had some close calls, but this represents my one and only hole-in-one to date. I have shared it with my Facebook friends already, as this is a bucket list item for me.
Donna Rollier, Salmon Arm Golf Club, Hole #7
I got my hole-in-one on the 7th at the Championship Course at Salmon Arm Golf Club on May 21, 2023. I was playing with my husband Brian, my daughter Julie, and her partner Ross. I teed my ball up as it needed to carry the sand trap and then land close to the front pin. I couldn’t believe it when it landed and rolled into the cup! The hole is 114 yards off the bronze tees, and I used my 3 hybrid (the newest club in my bag). Seven and 21 have always been my lucky numbers!
Garrett Prosofsky, Elmwood Golf and Country Club, Hole #13
The hole was 172 yards. I used my 7 iron. Jeremy Schwartz, Slade Prosofsky and Keegan Percival played with me.
Guy Gaudet, Memramcook, Hole #14
My playing partners were Francis A LeBlanc and Vincent Poirier. Both are members at the club. The yardage was 148 (blue pin). I took an extra club, 7 iron, to make sure it would be deep enough. No one saw it go in due to sun going down (8 pm). When I got to the green there were two balls on the green, neither was mine. Thought it had to of rolled off the back. But with no ball in sight, I decided to take a look in the hole…there it was!
James Cooley, Abercrombie Country Club, Hole #5
Hey,
It was on hole #5 playing about 145-150 yards that morning. I hit my 50-degree wedge. I was playing with Darcy McSorley.
Cheers,
James
John Knieder, Summit Golf and Country Club, Hole #2
Hole-in-one occurred on the second hole at Summit Golf and Country Club.
Kyle Harris, Rattlesnake Point Golf Club, Hole #16
I was playing with my buddy Tyler Harrison and my dad Robert Harris. The yardage was 120 and I used a pitching wedge. Thanks for reaching it out.
Len Leveck, Briar Fox Golf Club, Hole #17
Hi guys,
After 55 years of playing golf, I finally scored a hole-in-one on the 17th hole at Briar Fox golf course in Marysville, Ontario. The hole is 185 yards from the whites, and I used my driver to accomplish this feat. What a shock when it went in. I was with my brother-in-law John who scored his first hole-in-one on the same hole using a driver two years ago, an amazing coincidence.
Len Leveck
Liam Waites, Willow Park, Hole #12
On May 22, 2023, I played a round of golf. The front nine was not my best but on hole #12 I hit my best iron shot of the day around six feet short of the pin and it rolled in. I was playing alone but on hole #12 the group of guys ahead of me let me play through and while they were standing on the tee box, I hit the hole-in-one. I believe it was 174 yards out, front left pin and I hit my 6 iron. The group of guys came on to the green to take my picture and witness it was in the hole. After that I carried on with my round.
Kind regards,
Liam Waites
Linda Sambell, Nichlaus North Golf Club, Hole #2
The hole-in-one was on the second hole on May 12th with Donna Dunlop, Stuart Sambell and Nick Imregi. It was approximately 105 yards. I used an 8 iron and shot directly at the hole.
Kind regards.
Ling Wang, Skagit Golf and Country Club, Hole #14
Thank you so much. I was playing with a family friend from China. We were coming to Skagit area to watch the tulips festival. Our pro from Richmond Country Club helped us book the tee time. The 14th hole is 105 yards, and I used my pitching wedge. The ball landed on green and rolled in the hole. This is my first hole-in-one.
Regards,
Ling Wang
Lisa McLean, Richmond Hill Golf Club, Hole #17
Thank you for your note of congratulations. It was certainly an exciting moment for me. I was playing with the WIG (Women in Golf) league at Richmond Hill with my two buddies Christine Lomax and Nancy Hawkes. It was between 115-120 yards on hole #17 and I hit a perfect 6 iron. I was not certain it was in the hole until I got to the green! What a day to remember! I have been playing for 30+ years so nice bucket list item to check off.
Thanks,
Lisa
Liz Riches, Twenty Valley Golf and Country Club, Hole #16
My second hole-in-one, but the other one was about 30 years ago, so it seemed like my first! I was playing with Kathy, Sue and Tony on May 13th. My favourite 11 wood was the ticket that day. We followed my shot till it disappeared. Very exciting!
Louise LeClair, Brampton Golf Club, Hole #3
Thanks so much for the congratulatory greeting.
I am a relatively new golfer and joined the Brampton Golf Club “Intro to Golf Program” in 2022 and am totally loving it. On Monday, May 15th my husband convinced me to go out for a quick nine while the kids were at their activities…man, am I ever glad he did!
On the 3rd hole (94 yards) with my 7 iron, I hit my best shot yet! It was perfectly straight and took a short roll to the pin for a hole-in-one. Celebrations were limited as it was just the two of us, but word got around really quick. I am now looking forward to doing it again.
Lyonel Kawa, Elbow Springs Golf Club, Hole #16
It was one of those classic Calgary spring golf days. Beautiful and calm, heat and humidity, then heavy thunder showers, then wind, then sunny and calm, then lightning and rain again.
I was playing with Gerry and Bev Orr who are also members at Elbow Springs on the Elbow and Mountain nines.
I was playing well for a change and on our 7th hole (historically a nasty hole for most) I scoped the pin at around 184 yards from the blue tee box.
Of course, a big head wind picked up just as I was setting up and I switched from a 6 iron to my 4 hybrid which I teed up higher than normal to ensure I could get there over the sand while not flying the green into the trees.
I hit a nice draw starting out over the center and moving left tracking to the pin. I saw it bounce once and then disappear, as the actual hole was hidden by the bunker. I didn’t see it roll up the back side of the green so I felt it must be decent. With some hesitation I told my buddy that I was going to walk right up to that hole and take a look as if I thought it had a chance. You never want to talk it up too big as it likely would be five feet short!
We approached the green where we could finally see – no ball in sight – and I started getting excited, but afraid that I was setting myself up for a big disappointment. I essentially ran to the hole and when I saw the ball at the bottom of the cup, I gave a big ‘yeah baby’ and multiple fist pumps, everybody nearby started yelling.
Unbelievable! It felt incredible, especially because I wasn’t playing alone.
Marc Dunlop, BraeBen Golf Course, Hole #4
I would love to share my story and be featured. I put the ball three feet past the hole, and it had a little bit of back spin and dropped right in. It was an amazing experience. I used my pitching wedge.
Thanks,
Marc Dunlop
Marc Hebb, Hawk Ridge Golf Club, Hole #3
Thanks so much for reaching out and congratulating me on my hole-in-one! I was playing with my wife Brenda, and it was our first round of the year. There was a bit of a swirling wind when I stepped up to the blue tee deck, it was a middle flag but more towards the back of the green. I hit 8 iron a little bit thin, it was heading for the green a bit left of the flag. It landed on the front left portion of the green and took one big hop forward and right. It was rolling towards the flag, and I said, “this might be good” then it dropped right in! It’s so early in the season that it felt surreal. My wife got a picture of me taking the ball out of the hole and on the tee deck afterwards.
Another side story…this was my second hole-in-one in my lifetime. In 2012, I was in the golf management program in P.E.I. and was playing in October with another classmate at the Brudenell golf course. We started on the back nine, so it was hole #12. It was cool and an uphill shot, so I hit a 4 iron that was right on line. I didn’t see that one go in but when we got up there, I just saw a pitch mark and no ball, sure enough it was in the hole! Then, just last year I took my wife to P.E.I. to show her around and play some golf. We went to play Brudenell so I could show her where I got my hole-in-one. It must have been the energy in the air that day, but doesn’t she go and hole one on their picture hole #10 par three. The flag was in the back left corner behind the bunker, so we didn’t see it go in but got up there and it was in. A couple maintenance guys watched it go in and kept quiet until we got up to the green and they congratulated her. Kind of neat that we had our only hole-in-ones at the same course. I guess she’ll have to get one at Hawk Ridge now.
Matthieu Brassard, Meadowlands Golf Club, Hole #18
Thank you so much for the lovely congratulations! I was over the moon excited to finally hit my first ever ace!
I was golfing with a few friends, some of whom I’ve known for many years (Chris Germain and Clayton Mann).I was playing the white tees, so the distance was approximately 165 yards to the pin. I played with my 8-iron and gave it a nice smooth swing; with a nice soft draw it was lined right up with the flag. I knew that there was a hill before the green and thought I had seen my ball bounce short of the green. Chris disagreed immediately, stating that “dude, I’m pretty sure that went in.”. I dismissed him, not wanting to get ahead of myself. After approaching the green and not seeing my ball anywhere, I assumed I’d shot over, somehow. I decided, however foolishly, to look in the hole, and to my pure and utter elation, there was my ball!
I let out a massive scream of joy and jumped. Finally, after 26 years of golfing, I had hit my first hole-in-one; words can’t describe that feeling. Thank you once again for writing.
Kind regards,
Matthieu Brassard
Mel Hennigar, Silver Brooke Golf Club, Hole #3
It was 162 yards, and I used my 6 hybrid. It was one of those shots that you don’t think you hit very well but it worked out just fine.
I’m 66 years old and a member of the CGTF. This was my second hole-in-one. The other was about 20 years ago. Another lifetime ago it seems. I was in the Canadian military for over 23 years, then worked for a transportation company for approximately 22 years.
I retired two years ago and now spend my winters in Arizona where I golf at least five days a week meeting new people. Summers back in Ontario for the most part where I golf five to six days a week at Silver Brooke Golf Club. It’s a hidden gem that people are discovering.
Michael Meades, Wildwinds Golf Links, Hole #9
This is my third year as a member at Wildwinds. Now that I don’t work, I get over 100 rounds of golf in a year. I’ve been playing golf for over 40 years, but it’s only been in the last two years that I’ve got a hole-in-one. I got my first one last year on our shortest par 3 #15. This one was on #9 playing about 175 to the middle. This day it was playing about 185 (blue pin) in a slight wind. I didn’t hit the ball particularly far. I’m 67 years old with a bilateral knee replacement 14 years ago. On this hole, I used a 4 hybrid and landed on the green then it rolled right in. Only cost me $25 for a round of beers!
Hope you enjoy my story.
Michael Meades
Mike Hogan, Mountain Creek Golf Club, Hole #16
On May 11, 2023, I was golfing at Mountain Creek Golf Club near Arnprior, Ontario on men’s night. I was golfing with Tracy Armstrong, Wes Pugh and Kevin Richard. The 16th hole is 172 yards and I hit a 21 degree hybrid. I love my hybrids. I think the guys were more excited than I was. The foursome on the next tee came over to check it out and congratulate me. I had a hole-in-one on this same hole in 1998.
Thanks for your congratulations and interest.
Nate Cox, Cabot Cliffs, Hole #9
Good morning,
Thank you very much for the message. The graphic is very nice!
I was playing with two of my cousins and a friend of ours. We were playing from the silver tees, and I think the yardage on the day to the hole was about 105. I hit a 3 hybrid because it was very windy, and I wanted to run something along the ground just to the front of the green. One of the guys in our group actually recorded it on video although you can’t see the ball going in on the video very well. I got a nice flag and hat from Cabot which are both hanging in my apartment. Thanks again for the message and the graphic!
Kind regards,
Nate Cox
Ray Portiss, The Oxford Hills, Hole #3
I made a hole-in-one on May 19, 2023, at The Oxford Hills in Mt. Elgin, Ontario at the third hole (125 yards). This was during the Oxford Hill-Bellies golf league. I used a pitching wedge and did not see the ball go into the cup. This is my second hole-in-one.
Richard Lefebvre, Hylands Golf Course, Hole #3
It was my first hole-in-one. It was on the par 3 North at Hylands golf course. Dean Goodwin was my witness. Unfortunately, it was on an elevated green, so I didn’t see it go in. I walked up to the green and thought it must have rolled off the back till I walked past the pin and saw it sitting in the cup. It was 105 yards, and I used my 6-iron since I am not a long hitter at my age (71).
Steven Martin, Blue Springs Golf Club, Hole #5
Thank you for the note. It was truly a bucket list fulfilling moment. I began golfing at age 13 with my father and have been looking forward to this accomplishment for fifty years.
My foursome was comprised of three of my best friends: Paul, Braedon Morrison and Greg Atkin.
The flag being at the back of the green with a posted 146 yards to the middle I used my 8 iron with a Titleist ball.
While I knew it was a good shot the hole was on a slope that caused me to lose sight of its final few yards and I walked up to the green thinking it was still requiring a putt. I even looked to the back of the green and almost on a lark I walked over and looked into the hole – the hairs on my arm stood up as I looked down into the hole!
Steve
Taylor Jones, Forest City National Golf Club, Hole #17
My hole-in-one was on the 17th hole of my home club, Forest City National. It happened to be on men’s league night on May 18th. I was playing with a fellow member Marco G. The hole is 120 yards, and the pin was in the front right playing around 101 yards. I hit a 56-degree wedge, the ball took one bounce short right of the pin, bounded beyond the hole and spun back to the left and fell into the cup! My apologies to the group on the adjacent 11th fairway for my slightly loud scream!
Thank you for reaching out!
Taylor Jones
Terence Wong, Country Hills Golf Club, Hole #16
I was playing with my lovely partner, Joan Li, and friends, John and Lori Ma on a smoky day at the Talon course of Country Hills GC. At hole #16, it was a red flag and played 132 yards. I used a 9 iron to play a high draw. Because of the smoke, I couldn’t follow my yellow ball until all of a sudden, a yellow ball dropped down in front of the pin and rolled into the hole. What a feeling!
Tim Robb, Port Colborne, Hole #10
Happy to share my third hole-in-one! Golfing with my men’s night group at Port Colborne Country Club. Hole #10 was playing 151 yards that day! 8 iron with two bounces hit the stick and fell! The first text was to my wife Wendy to let her know I caught up to her again with hole-in-one counts! Happy day!
Hole-in-One Report is back for 2023

During the golfing season, congratulatory emails and digital certificates are sent weekly to Golf Canada members who record a hole-in-one through the hole-by-hole scoring option on the Golf Canada website, Golf Canada mobile app or at your club kiosk.
The stories are compiled and shared on the Golf Canada website and on the Golf Canada social channels.
Read some of the stories shared by fellow Golf Canada members who accomplished this incredible feat.
Zara Kenley, Digby Pines Golf Resort and Spa, Hole #8
Thank you for acknowledging Zara’s hole-in-one. This is her mother, Nancy Kenley, helping her respond to the email as Zara is 12 years old and going into grade 7.
She was super excited about getting a hole-in-one. Zara was playing a round by herself at her beautiful home course and I was driving her in a cart, like I often do. The yardage was about 129 yards and she hit the ball with a 9 iron. It was raining on and off.
I actually recorded a video of the hole-in-one, as I often video her golfing, and especially usually on par 3’s as Zara has been obsessed with wanting to get a hole-in-one since she first learned about them.
We hope to find a program that will track and show the ball, as you can barely see it in the air on the left, then it drops and rolls to the hole.
I could see it through my camera phone, and you can see Zara’s surprised expression as she realized it went in the hole. Her reaction is priceless.
The story is even more exciting, as a few years ago, a member, Joey, mentioned that he jumped in the pond once he got a hole-in-one. Our assistant, Pro Fletcher, had promised Zara that if she ever got a hole-in-one, she could push him in the pond on hole #2. So, this Friday, everyone is meeting at hole #2 at 6pm for Fletcher, Joey and Zara to get pushed/jump in the pond.
Thank you,
Nancy Kenley, on behalf of Zara Kenley
Sean Dolan, Blue Mountain Golf & Country Club, Hole #17
Hello,
Thanks for your note.
I was playing with my friends, Cathy Holowitz and Joanne and Fred Gardner, when I stepped to the tee on the par 3, 17th. I clubbed up to a 4 hybrid to carry the front bunker. The ball traveled for 130 yards in air before a soft landing and gentle roll saw it find the cup. So much fun.
Take care,
Sean
Jake Kearley, Eagles Nest Golf Club, Hole #8
Hi there!
Can't believe I got one! Thank you for the graphic!
Occurred on hole number 8 at Eagles Nest on Thursday, September 1st. I grabbed my gap wedge and hit three quarters swing to a front pin with a 121 yardage. The ball bounced about 10 feet short and right of the pin. The ball then rolled up and right in the front of the hole.
I was playing with my good friend, Conner Rowntree.
Thanks,
Jake Kearley
Ethan Kummerfield, Tobiano Golf Course, Hole #3
Thanks for the message. I was playing with two of my buddies, Tanner Goetz and Brandon Vervalcke. It was 131 yards, and I used a pitching wedge.
Thanks,
Ethan

Luis Bridgeman, Deerhurst Golf Course, Hole #8
Hi,
Thanks for reaching out!
My friends and I were out in Huntsville earlier this year to enjoy a summer weekend. In my group, I was playing with my friends Savi, Kevin and Alan on the Highlands par 72 course. I was playing from the white tees. I got my hole-in-one on the 8th hole which was playing around 131 yards. The tees are slightly elevated, and you hit down into the green, so I factored this in and chose to hit my pitching wedge. The golf ball that I was using was a Titleist Pro V1x. I hit a slight draw on the shot and the ball landed about two or three feet left of the pin but had some nice right sidespin which spun it right into the hole! It was quite fascinating watching the ball spin about two or three feet back to the right and into the hole which made the moment that much more exciting.
Thank you for providing me with a nice infographic to commemorate this exciting achievement!
Kind regards,
Luis Bridgeman
Belinda McNeice, Meadow Gardens Golf Association, Hole #17
Hi,
It was on hole #17. I used my 4 hybrid had a beautiful straight drive! I was happy to land on the green and couldn’t actually see my ball from where we were. As I approached the green, I couldn’t see my ball so I assumed it went into the sand. I grabbed my sand wedge and headed towards the sandpit. One of the members I was golfing with walked straight to the hole and was like yup it’s in the hole! Somehow he knew! Pretty cool feeling. I was golfing with my girl friend Cindy and a new member that had just joined us on the last three holes. Maybe a good luck charm! Sorry didn’t catch his name.
Went back to the clubhouse bought some drinks for who was there to celebrate!
Thank you,
Belinda McNeice
Anisur Salim, Dentonia Park Golf Course, Hole #1
I recorded my seventh hole-in-one on October 6th at Dentonia Park Golf Course. Occurred on the 102-yard first hole. I used my 56-degree wedge.
Thanks,
Anisur

Alan Campbell, Brundenell River Golf Course, Hole #10
Thanks for sharing my first hole-in-one. It was #10 at Brudenell River Golf Course. 131 yards across water and windy and cool. The guys who were playing with me were John Currie, Alyre Poirier, and Josh Campbell (my son). I hit a 7 iron, it hit the green and rolled to the right and into the hole.
Barbara Ollenberger, Dunes Golf & Winter Club, Hole #3
Thank you.
I was golfing with my friends Trina Irons and Allen Tomkins. It was 90 yards, and I used a 9 iron.
Benjamin Lisi, The Pulpit Club, Hole #16
Good evening Golf Canada Team,
Thank you so much for your email.
I am more than happy to share the details. It was so unexpected and a moment I will remember for the rest of my life.
My good friend from university, Joshua Hardy, invited me out to the club that day alongside his other two buddies, Noah Maunder and Connor Logan. The yardage was 164 yards and I hit an 8-iron.
We were playing a money game and Noah and Connor were 1 up headed into 16. I previously made an up-and-down to save par on 15. I was the last to go in the group, Josh had hit the green and I had the opportunity to put the pressure on. Hole #16 at The Pulpit is very similar to hole #12 (Golden Bell) at Augusta, where you have to hit over some water with a bunker guarding the green in front and two bunkers behind. The pin was located on the middle left and there was a ridge feeding the ball down towards the hole.
The most satisfying part of it all was that I said to Josh right before I hit it “Smooth 8-iron over the bunker.” I was playing a draw for the majority of the round with my short irons and I hit the exact shot I wanted to hit. Josh said, “Oh, that could be in” once I hit it. The ball landed three feet to the right pin high, spun left off the ridge, and just disappeared!
It was so surreal and just like that the match was all square onto hole #17. Good thing there weren’t many people in the clubhouse when we came in or else it would have been an expensive bar tab.
Thank you again for reaching out! I appreciate it!
Best,
Ben
Bohdan Kolomijchuk, Willow Park Golf & Country Club, Hole #18
Thank you for the email and reaching out. It’s still very surreal that I got my hole-in-one.
Here’s a recap of the day:
It was Saturday, May 13th, a beautiful morning in Calgary. We had a shot gun start at 8:30 AM, the tee sheet being jammed with two groups on each hole. Our starting hole was hole #13.
When I got to the course I knew or was expecting the round to be a long round, around 5 hours, based on the amount of players. The funny thing was while walking with my golf group heading out to our first tee on hole #13, one of my playing partners said “maybe we will only play 15 holes and not play 10, 11 and 12” based on all of us thinking it would be extremely slow with the number of players playing in the shot gun. I remember saying to everyone we will have to play all 18 holes if someone in our group gets a hole-in-one, too funny that I called it. ?
The horn goes off; the shot gun has begun, and we tee off on hole #13 as group one for that hole. I am playing with my regular Saturday group that would include other members of Willow Park as follows: my brother (Yar), my son (Tyler) and my friend (Bob). The time we got to the 18th hole this was our sixth hole of the day. I was not having my best golf day going into this hole I was already 8 over par so not having much fun. The good part of the day was the pace of play actually was way better than expected.
We were playing from the back tees this round which would be the (black/blue combo). Hole #18 was playing long at 201 yards into the wind the pin placement was positioned and tucked between two mounds middle right side of the green so needing the perfect tee shot to get it anywhere close.
As I recall I was eight over par going into this and remember quote on quote this is what I truly said to the group prior to teeing off, “Nothing that a hole-in-one can’t cure.”
I used a 5 iron and striped it. I knew it was good but had no idea it was in the hole. Walking up towards the green I didn’t see my ball. In my mind I was thinking the ball must have rolled off the back of the green?
To my surprise when I approach the green one of my playing partners has his hand extended to shake my hand. I am thinking, “What is he doing?” He said, “Look down into the cup.” Wow, what a surprise as I see my Titleist ball looking right at me. I mark my balls with a Happy Face on them and it was staring me in the eye.
At that moment I did not know what to say or do, I was in shock but so happy and it was surreal that I was able to have this moment and especially doing this with my regular weekend group including my brother and son.
Thanks again,
Bohdan Kolomijchuk
Brandon Kleinknecht, Weston Golf & Country Club, Hole #8
What a great email to receive. Wow, very professional. Thank you very much. I was playing with my best friend, Jeff O’Neill who is a member there. It was playing 122 yards and I hit my 50-degree gap wedge on route to a smooth 71. Jeff actually got an ace on the same hole with the same yardage a few years ago. Thanks again.
Brent Davidson, Legacy Ridge Golf Club, Hole #2
Hello and thanks for the congratulations email. Nice touch. My hole-in-one was at Legacy Ridge #2. It was a pitching wedge from 131 yards that bounced twice and trickled in. The excitement was shared with my wife, Kim, and our golf friends, Gord and Donna. A big thanks to the Legacy Ridge Management for presenting me with a hole-in-one flag directly after the round. Very nice touch!
Brian Goodwin, Glacier Greens, Hole #4
After going bogey, par, double bogey, Bill Village, Ernie Peaker and I made our way to the 4th hole at Glacier Greens, in the Comox Valley. Both gents hit decent shots over a pond to the green. Having not started very well, I changed to a used, beat-up ball as my confidence wasn’t running very high as I have put balls in the pond on numerous occasions. I hit a good shot in the direction of the pin that was 135 yards away. As I was a little frustrated, I turned to walk back to my bag. The boys said, that may have gone in. The pin was hard to see as it was in the sun. My first thought was that it went passed the pin and no one could see it. As we neared the green, none of us could see the ball, so I started looking past the green in the rough. Still not seeing the ball I walked slowly to the pin and saw the ball at the bottom of the cup. This was my second hole-in- one, having one 21 years earlier on my 40th birthday. This was the one time that I thoroughly enjoyed buying beer for my buddies and funny enough, a few more showed up after the round.
Sincerely,
Brian Goodwin
Carmen Bropinak, Goose Hummock Golf Resort, Hole #4
Thanks for the cool graphic.
The hole was 103 yards to the flag and was very windy. I hit an 8 iron and it landed beside the flag and spun into the hole. I was with my husband, Jeff Kropinak, and his friend, Robert Toutant.
Deborah Cooper, Toronto Golf Club, Hole #7
Thank you for your email.
My story should be called Pure Luck. I was playing with Tammy Demaine and her daughter Rachel Demaine as well as my daughter, Kiera Dirisio. All members at TGC. First round of the season!
I used my rescue club. First hole-in-one for me. I hit my ball on the green and honestly saw it roll to the right and lost sight of it. The rest of the group was talking and didn’t see me hit. Typical! We all walked up to the green and I thought it rolled off down the hill as it was nowhere to be seen. I even brought my pitching wedge with me. My daughter also landed on the green and when she went to putt hers in the hole, she screamed, “Mom, your ball is in the hole!” I think the entire course heard us screaming. Lots of celebrating on the lawn afterwards.
Overall super exciting and truly unbelievable!

Jean-Guy Godin, Nottawasaga Inn Golf Club, Hole #4
Thank you for your kind message. My hole-in-one on May 1, 2023 was my very first one.It happened on hole #4 of the Hill-Valley course at the Nottawasaga Inn Golf Club in Alliston. I was playing with three of my neighbours and friends, Ken Beckett, Terry Corbett and Terry Mudry. The hole played to 149 yards (front pin position), with a slight headwind. I used a Callaway Big Bertha Diablo Hybrid 4 club and a Callaway Max ball. We were playing the white tees on an elevated tee box. When I struck the ball off my tee, I knew right away that it was a good shot – high loft and straight at the pin. I saw the ball land about one metre from the pin but did not see it roll into the cup. As I started walking away from the tee, my golf mates who were standing behind me started yelling that the ball rolled into the cup and that I had made a hole-in-one. Initially, I thought they were kidding, but then quickly realized that I had indeed shot my first hole-in-one. Quite a surprising and great golfing moment for me! Happy to have shared it with golfing buddies.
Best regards,
Jean-Guy Godin
Kory Mortimer, Galt Country Club, Hole #11
Thanks for reaching out. I was playing with my brother, Kyle Mortimer, and my two friends, Todd Chevalier and Vinny Luka. It was a 9 iron from 146 yards. Nice high draw that landed about three or four feet left of hole and rolled right inside the door. I was fourth to tee off in the group. Vinny was on the green and Kyle and Todd were 6 and 8 feet from the hole. Didn’t think I could do much better, turns out I could!
Murray Alley, Wyldewood Golf & Country Club, Hole #11
Hi,
May 11th 2023
Hole # 11
123 yards
9 iron
Thanks,
Murray Alley
Neil Pagett, Osoyoos Golf Club, Hole #13
Hello,
Thanks for the email, it was a nice surprise.
I was playing with a couple of friends and golf mates, Garry and Phil. 13th hole, out on the Meadows course back nine, which was our front nine due to an irrigation project under way at the Osoyoos Golf Club. Front pin, tees back, playing about 134 yards to the stick. I hit a 9 iron nice and easy into a little bit of a breeze, just caught the front apron and rolled right at the flag. It seemed to hang there for a moment then goik!
Ended up shooting 80, great day overall!
Warm Regards,
Neil Pagett
Randy Wood, Royal Regina Golf Club, Hole #14
On May 10, 2023, I recorded a hole-in-one on the 14th hole at the Royal Regina Golf Club.
Samuel Shiposh, Eagle Creek Golf Course, Hole #11
Thank you so much for reaching out! I was playing at my home course, Eagle Creek Golf Club, with two of my brothers, Aubry and Brennan Shiposh. Hole #11 was playing 115 yards and I hit my 52-degree wedge. I hit the shot and it was tracking the entire way and ended up dunking in the hole! We were all going crazy. This was my second hole-in-one ever, as well as my second on this very same hole.
Steve Geoffrey, Oaks of St. George Golf Club, Hole #8
Hi,
Thanks for sending this. I thought it was kind of cool at the time, but I really didn’t make a big deal about it. I didn’t even tell them at the Proshop. I was playing with Malcolm MacCrae, Brian (Malcolm’s friend) and Blair (Brian’s son).
Hole #8 played 190 to the pin that day with a slight head wind, so I picked up a 4 iron (from the gold). I hit it reasonably well but not flush. I saw the ball clear the water and bounce twice, lost it in the glare of the sun and bent over to pick up my tee thinking “Okay, it’s up there.”
I watched the others tee off and we made our way to the green. All the way to the green I was thinking I couldn’t see a ball on the green. I must have over hit it. So, I head to the back of the green. I looked at the fringe, over the back mounds and all way up on the next tee block. I was thinking the whole time, “205 max. No way I hit it this far.”
So, now I’m miffed at having lost the ball on what I thought was a really good shot. I dropped a ball on the back mound as the fellas were putting out. Blair was the first one to get within 3 feet of the hole and said, “There’s a ball in the hole!” He pulled it out and it had my red and blue markings on it!
I couldn’t believe it!
Thanks for asking. I love telling this story!
Steve
Steven Leslie, Saugeen Golf Club, Hole #8
Thank you for your email. I appreciate you taking the time and for your interest.
The hole was Saugeen Golf Club, Legacy #8. 126 yards. 8 iron. My playing partners were Larry (The Commish) Dudgeon, Gord Wallace and Byron Sadiku. All Saugeen Golf and Golf Canada members.
It was pure with nice loft, two hops, looked like it stopped and disappeared in the jar. I couldn’t believe my eyes.
Side note: Larry Dudgeon, a local legend, has seven aces!
Thank you again for your interest.
Hit’m straight.

Wayne Ricord, Loomis Trail, Hole #12
My name is Wayne Ricord. I played golf on Friday, May 12, 2023 at Loomis Trail in Blaine,Washington. I had a hole-in- one on hole #12. 177 yards. White tees. 5 iron. It was a shot in the sun, so we didn’t see it go in. My buddy Bill’s shot was just short of the green and we kind of thought that’s where I was. Walking up to the green we only saw one ball and it was Bill’s. He said you better look in the hole maybe it’s there. I waited till after he chipped then I looked in and low and behold there it was. Hole-in-one! It was a great day on the links with great friends, Randy Balfour and Bill Farden.

Adam Bilyea, Tarandowah Golfers Club, Hole #12
Hello,
I was playing as a single and was joined on hole #4 by another single (thank goodness). We got to hole #12 and I selected a 7 iron. Yardage to pin was 157.
I hit it pure and knew as soon as I hit it, it was going to be good. The ball landed a few feet on the green, took a nice hop and then rolled in. The foursome ahead of us that left the green and was on next tee box also got to celebrate it! This was on our first Men’s night, and on the closet to the pin hole.
As you can see in the pic my puppy Rory photo bombed the picture. I guess he is my good luck charm. It was his very first round.
Certainly, was a memorable evening.
Alex Dumais, Sirocco Golf Club, Hole #5
Good morning,
Thank you for the well wishes and the graphic! I will be printing it and putting it up with the flag I was given by the club that day.
I was grouped that morning with a member named Richard Wong, and two other public players, Phil and Dave. The hole was playing 179 yards and I hit a 6 iron.
There is a funny lesson regarding rules with this event:
I hit my tee shot left into a steep bank with trees, shrubs and fescue and was hoping for a bounce onto the green. The ball landed over a small mound, and I saw no bounce. I went up to the area the ball landed on the hill and searched for a minute or two and then decided to drop a ball to keep pace of play. I chipped my dropped ball close to the hole and tapped in to find my original tee shot in the bottom of the cup. Had this been in a tournament, I’m not sure if my tee shot would have counted as I had already put another ball in play (although maybe this could be discussed with a Rules official)? Regardless, always check the hole if you think there’s any chance the ball went in.
Thanks again,
Alex Dumais
Arlene King, Arrowsmith Golf & Country Club, Hole #14
Good morning,
What a lovely surprise receiving this note from you.
I serve as the Secretary of Zone 6 Ladies BCGA and have done for the past 6 years. I did not start playing golf until 8 years ago so to have these honors, as a Senior…well, it was well worth the wait!
On Wednesdays, I book a couple of tee times for members of the Qualicum Beach Legion Br#76. On this day I had the pleasure of playing with my husband, Wayne Brown alongside David Livingstone and Wendy Chisholm. The second group was made up of Dave Horrocks, Ben Villeneuve and Jenny Mann. They all joined us on the Clubhouse patio following the round to lift a glass in celebration.
Hole #14 is a par 3 and was playing 120 yards (uphill) that day. I got to the tee box with my 7W (Heavenwood) in hand and swung slow and easy, I could not see the ball finish, but it was on a good line and trajectory. By the time I got up to the green, Wayne was marking his ball and said, with a huge grin, “Can you get your junk outta the hole so the rest of us can putt?” WHOOOOHOOO! So excited. It was a fabulous day made even more special golfing with some of my favorite people! And yes, we enjoyed a pint and a toast to the golf gods. ?⛳?
Thanks for the opportunity to share my story. Ace number two is now in the books.
Thank you so much for taking an interest.
Best regards,
Arlene King
Bob Dubask, McKenzie Meadows Golf Club, Hole #17
Thank you very much for the email.
McKenzie Meadows Golf Club, Calgary, Alberta. It was May 4, 2023, at 4 PM (the “fourth” must’ve been with me!). Hole # 17 is a par 3 with water on the left. The hole was cut on the right front at about 116 yards. Strong wind blowing from left to right. I used a 7 iron and made what I thought was a pretty decent shot (for a 80-year old! ?). The ball landed on the green, bounced once, and then rolled towards the pin. It was the strangest feeling…time seemed to stand still, as the ball kept rolling and rolling and rolling, and then simply disappeared! Hole-in-one! ? This is my third hole-in-one. 22 years since the second! ?
Playing partners that day were Alex Tye, David Mahoney and Bruce Simpson
David Rossall, Deer Creek Golf Club, Hole #5
Thank you so much for sending me a congratulations card.
I was playing with my brother Wayne Rossall, my nephew John Alcott and Jeff Eadie. All are members of Golf Canada.
We play closest to pins on par 3’s and I had the last shot. Nobody was on the green, so it was wide open. I originally had a pitching wedge in my hand but watching all the other shots I thought let’s change it to a nine iron. The hole was playing 135 yards. As soon as I hit all I heard was “That’s got a chance.” I hit the ball as perfect as I ever could and it bounced once, twice and in the hole. It was on the 5th hole of Black Pearl Course. I just let out a yell and so did everyone I was playing with. Best feeling ever to have in the game of golf. I’m 61 years old and have been playing for 41 years.
Ethan Saucier, Beverly Golf & Country Club, Hole #17
Thank you very much. I was playing with my good friends, Ken Wiersma and Jim Hemrica. The pin was around 160 yards and I hit an easy 6 iron. The pin was on the downslope and the ball hit the top of the slope and slowly trickled back into the cup.
Jack Demroski, Tsawwassen Springs Golf Course, Hole #9
Hello.
Thank you for the mention of my hole-in-one. I think it was because my wife Kathy enters my scores hole-by-hole on the Golf Canada site.
Eight of us were playing a net score game and I was in the second group, getting ready to tee off on the short but tough 9th hole at Tsawwassen Springs G.C. It’s protected by traps on either side and at the back as well. The group ahead of us were part of our small money game and were heading to the tenth tee. One of them (Ken Natsuhara) left a KP marker where his tee shot stopped within a foot, left of the flag. Rob in our group said, “Someone’s got to hole it to beat that KP!”. Shortly after is when the lead group heard a loud whoop from our group, turned around and realized someone in our group had holed out. Me! For my very first hole-in-one, ever!
Members in my group took pictures and they were: Theo van Tunen, Robert Clare and Casey Whittit. The hole was only 110 yards, but playing into the wind, so more like 120 yards. I “stepped hard” on a pitching wedge as I realized I had left my pushcart and clubs several yards away in the designated area before realizing I might not have enough “club”. I committed to the wedge. It landed about six inches in front and slightly to the right of the cup, one hopped past and spun back into the hole. I was stunned and silent as I was realizing what had finally happened, but my friends cheered immediately!
Thanks for the graphic.
I had just turned 65, 2 days before (on the 24th), so took a couple days off to play with friends who play most Wednesdays throughout the year, weather permitting. We are all part of the Pacific Golf cCub, all players with established H’caps (Via BCGA/CGA), who play throughout the Lower Mainland, usually on Saturdays. Currently at around 40 members, open to men and women. I have been a member with Pacific for over 10 years, and was a member of Fraserview Golf Course, part of the Vancouver Parks board, for 25 years before that.
Cheers and thank you, again.
Jacques Fournier, Moncton Golf & Country Club, Hole #2
Had never had one in 17 years and now have two in the last three years.
Occurred on hole #2. I used a 9 iron on the 145-yard hole. Hit spin back in the hole.
Jacques Fournier
Jim Carlson, National Pines Golf Club, Hole #15
Thank you.
The hole-in-one was achieved May 5th on National Pines’ 15th hole. It was playing 110 yards and I used it Wedge. Playing partners were Bob Goss and Andy Williams.
Cheers.
Kelan Dhanai, McCall Lake Golf Course, Hole #4
I was playing with my friend. Wind was coming in from the back, I was 170 yards into a front left pin. I had a 9 iron in hand ready to try and draw it in. Right as I was about to swing, I thought to myself I should hit a light 8 iron. So, I grabbed it from my bag. As I hit my ball, it started off five yards left of the pin with a baby draw then landed five feet left of the pin and had a draw spin into the hole.
Ken Rondeau, Stonebridge Golf Club, Hole #13
Thank you for your email.
Hole #13 which played approximately 135 yards. Hit a 9 iron. Played with Steven Check and Bruce in the morning at 7:10.
Neil McKendrick, Fernie Golf & Country Club, Hole #11
Thanks for reaching out.
Here are the details:
– Fernie Golf Club, opening day for 2023.
– Hole #11, white tees. 142 yards, 8 iron.
– Playing partners were Bonny McKendrick (wife), Al Kamp and Jessica Rodrigues.
- The club gives a hole-in-one flag to commemorate the event.
This is my second hole-in-one on this hole (first was in August, 2020) and my sixth since I started playing golf. My score on Sunday was 72. I’m 71 years old and started playing when I was 16.
Very exciting for me and those I was playing with.
Thank you for the graphic.
Peter Hastings, Rattlesnake Point Golf Club, Hole #13
Hi and thank you for your email and the certificate.
I was playing with Don Young (Rattlesnake) and Carl Hiltz (Heron Point).
The hole-in-one was on Copperhead #13. I believe the yardage to the middle of the green was 160 and we were playing to a blue flag. There was a strong wind in our faces, so I hit a 5 wood to make sure I got to the back of the green. The shot had a high trajectory, landed about 15 feet left of the pin and then rolled into the hole.
Thanks.
Rey Erickson, Victoria Golf Club, Hole #8
My hole-in-one occurred while I was playing golf with my wife, Maureen Erickson, and Mitch Prothman, a member at Victoria Golf Club.
The yardage was 109 yards with wind against us. I used a Miura 9 iron to get my hole-in-one.
Shawn Delaney, Algonquin (Club de Golf), Hole #5
Witness was John Decontie. Yards were 166. Iron used was a 5 iron. Ball was a TaylorMade soft response. It was a very small left to right fade. Slam dunk. Man, it was unbelievable. I didn’t realize what happened until I looked over to John and he’s losing his mind then it clues in that it did in fact go in.
Steve Akazawa, Harvest Golf Club, Hole #4
Thank you for reaching out to me to celebrate my first and only hole-in-one after 40 years of golfing!
The happy event occurred on April 26, 2023, on hole #4 of the Harvest Golf Club in Kelowna, B.C. where I have been a member for six years since I retired and relocated from Vancouver.
On this Wednesday, April 26, I joined up as a single with some out of town visitors; a lovely couple, Christian and Catherine from Montreal and another single, Richard Burrage from Calgary. So, I was pleased to be able to be a course guide for them, helping with the hole layouts and green reading. Even without a hole-in- one it was a great day of golf and socializing, especially at the 19th hole.
I normally play the White tees, but on this occasion, decided to join Richard and Christian on the Combo tees. On hole #4 the regular white and blue tees were closed due an improvement project to the teeing area and the grass area was still undergoing new growth. So, all of the fourth hole tees were moved up to the 128-yard Green Tee location. I used an 8 iron for my lucky hole-in-one shot and was fortunate that all members of our foursome saw the ball roll into the cup! Talk about good course yardage for our guests. All in all, a phenomenal day.
P.S. I had an incident with my electric MGI golf cart last year that was fully covered (less $100 deductible) by the insurance program provided by the Golf Canada membership. The process was quick, simple and very courteous; thank you for providing this service.
Steve Akazawa
Todd Pearson, Hylands North, Hoe #12
Hole-in-one happened on hole #12 at the Hylands North, course in Ottawa. 199 yards. 4 iron.

Avin Holstein, Granite Ridge Golf Club, Hole #5
Hi. I’m Avin. I was playing in the CJGA Notah Begay Qualifier on Sunday at Granite Ridge Cobalt course, and I was playing with Karver Dean and Ethan Kim and son spectators. The hole was 141 yards out and I hit an 8 iron.
Andrew LeBlanc, Kingsville Golf & Country Club, Hole #18
There is quite more to the story than my hole-in-one!
I was playing with my usual group of friends. We have three times blocked every Saturday morning and on this particular Saturday, I was playing with Ryan Krahn (who shot 32 on the front nine), Dan Schnekenberger, James Flynn and myself.
We get to #17 (8 Red) which is a par 5. All hit decent drives James gets up to his and is about 215 yards out, straight into the wind. Pulls out hybrid and hits a great shot at the pin, goes in for an albatross! Amazing!
We finish the hole out and go to #18 (9 Red). Playing 145 yards, I step up with 52-degree wedge and hit a nice hit tight draw at the pin. Lands seven feet past the pin and spins back into the hole!
Pretty exciting finish to our day!
Belinda McNeice, Meadow Gardens Golf Association, Hole #17
Hi,
It was hole 17 I used my 4 hybrid had a beautiful straight drive!
Craig Heyland, Whitetail Crossing Golf Course, Hole #8
Good morning,
Thank you for your email.
Please share if it would help promote junior golf in Canada as I would never have stuck to it without having the opportunity as a kid.
As for details:
– Playing partners: Elliot Heyland (son), Chris Naughton and Larry Moore
– Yardage: approximately 128 yards into a headwind
– Club: “knock-down” 9-iron
Thanks,
Craig
David McKinty, Dundas Valley Golf & Curling Club, Hole #9
Hi there,
My first hole-in-one! It was very exciting!
Dundas Golf and Country Club – hole #9, from the Blue Tees and was playing 219 yards. I used my trusty 3-wood (there was a strong head wind! ha!)
My foursome was J. Gilmore, P. Walsh and T. Kyte (all Dundas members).
Thanks for the congratulations.
Thanks,
David McKinty
Grant Bunker, Bonita Bay Club, Hole #8
Hi,
Thanks for reaching out and for the banner.
Yes, it was a great day and fun to have my whole family there to witness it. The hole-in-one was Sundaym April 30 at the 8th hole of Creekside Course, Bonita Bay Golf Club in Florida. It was a 142-yard par 3 over water, into the wind. I hit an 8 iron just left of the pin and the ball landed a few yards outside the hole and trickled it.
I was playing with my sons Jack and Ty at the time. And my wife Andrea and other son Charlie were just ahead of us. Everyone happened to be there to see the big event.
Also, we were at the Leafs vs. Tampa NHL game the night before and was able to watch them win and get out of the first round in 19 years. It was the best 24 hours ever!
Here’s a picture of my wife Andrea, sons Charlie, Ty, myself and Jack celebrating at the hole.
John White, Myrtlewood Golf Club, Hole #6
Thank you. The hole measured 156 yards with my range finder. It was downwind and I used an 8 iron. Playing partners were Phil Hamlin, Jamie Stride and Kirk Steele. It was my third career hole-in-one, the last one in 1995.
John White
Karlyn Roberts, Osoyoos Golf Club, Hole #13
Thank you. I was playing with my partner, Jim Jung, and a twosome we were paired up with: Jay (uncle) and James (nephew) from Whistler that own a restaurant. Yardage was 117 and I used a hybrid that I normally hit between 110 and 120. I hit a beautiful shot to the left of the flag that rolled into the hole. It was a special moment! None of my playing partners had ever seen a hole-in-one live.
Ken Barnes, Penticton Golf & Country Club, Hole #6
Hi,
Thank you for your email.
Yes, it was exciting to card a hole-in-one; my first!
Here are the details:
– Date: April 30, 2023
– Hole #6, Penticton Golf and Country Club
– Gold Tees, 133 yards
– 9-iron from my set of Callaway Rogue ST irons with stiff graphite shafts
It was a nice shot (not a bad shot gone lucky, thankfully). Well struck, high in the air, landed about five feet from the pin, bounced once and rolled in. Was witnessed by PGCC Members Mike Mann, Bobbi Miller, and Jasper Barnes (playing partners in my foursome). It was also witnessed by the group ahead watching from #7 tee area.
Thank you for sending the graphic, I will share it across my social channels.
Best,
Ken
Ken Dick, Crosswinds Golf & Country Club, Hole #5
Good morning and many thanks for your note.
To provide some context, the fifth hole at Crosswinds is a short par 3 and as we were playing the Blue / White tees. We played this hole from the Whites as the Blues were still closed as they had resodded the blue tee block. The hole is surrounded by water on three sides. I was playing with two sons Jackson Dick (22) and Kevin Dick (28) and my oldest friend, Chris Sainsbury.
The hole that day was playing 118 yards to the pin into about a 10 miles per hour wind that was a little unpredictable. Trying to determine club was difficult but after watching both my sons hit 45 degree and 50-degree wedges that were somewhat long, I hit my 52-degree Vokey with the target being the top of the hill on the right side. The pic shows where the pin was that day at the bottom of the green about centre cut. My thought was to land it at the top on the right side of the green and let it feed to the hole. Of course, I did not expect it to go in but was trying to get it close and it hit in the right spot with enough spin to get it moving down the hill and it just stayed on the line and dropped in.
There were many around us as the group heading to hole #6 turned when hearing the cheers and the first green is also close and those on the green also were cheering. Unfortunately, based on how busy the course was that day (early season, gorgeous weather) we did not take any pictures and moved onto the next hole.
As an aside, as it was early in the season the bar facilities were not open yet so no drinks for everyone – but we play there often so I am sure I will get hit up for some drinks over the balance of the season.
I have been playing golf for 52 years and this was my first hole-in-one! It was very exciting and to do it with my boys and my oldest friend made it an experience I will never forget!
Many thanks once again and now I am on the hunt for the second one!
Cheers,
Ken
Michael Marasco, Inglewood Golf & Curling Club, Hole #7
Good morning,
I was playing with Tim Jarratt, Debbie Huitema and Richard Jones.
The hole was 157 yards, and I used a 7 iron.
Thank you!
Michael Marasco
Monique Saindon-Syring, Pheasant Glen Golf Resport, Hole #13
Thank you for reaching out. First of all, the business. 140 yards. 4 hybrid.
I was playing with my husband, Shawn Syring, Ryder Eaves and Robert Eaves. The coolest part of the story is that I did not see it go in as I was picking up my tee and it was from sunlight to shade. But, Ryder (a junior, 13 years) said, “I think it went in.” His dad and him were in a cart and reached the green before us. He ran up the green and stopped himself and said, “No. You need to check the hole.”.
At the end of the round, Ryder said he would remember that day the rest of his life. I told him that he would get many holes in one as he is an amazing golfer. Two days later, he got one!

Alex Matheson, Palmeto Hall Plantation, Hole #6
Hi,
Really appreciate you and the team reaching out, big fan of Golf Canada and the great work you guys do.
We were on a golf trip to Hilton Head, playing with a few buddies. 7 iron from 177 yards that we got to watch go in the whole way. Two hops, a bit of a roll out, hit the pin and dropped. Surreal feeling.
Would like to add my playing partners were Joe Hemingway, Peter Dabic and Jared Lubczuk.
Andrew Bouchat, Belleview Golf Club, Hole #16
1st ever Hole-in-One
– Occurred on April 20, 2023
– Member at Belleview Golf Club – Woodslee, ON
– Witnesses: Claire Primeau Bouchat and Cody McFarlane
– Handicap – 8.3
– Hole 16 – Par 3 – 93 yards – used a Titleist Vokey 50° Gap Wedge
Story:
April 20, 2023, was a cold, windy day. I was playing with my wife and a friend. Came close earlier in the round and my wife Claire (who has 2 holes-in-one) who stated it will happen, eventually, with a smile. Had recently ordered new Titleist Vokey SM9 wedges and other then the practice range, had not hit my 50° wedge many times. The shot on the 16th was two feet left and short of the hole. It bounced and hit the lower part of the flag stick and dropped in the hole. After an immediate fist pump, I yelled “yeah – finally” loud enough that the group behind us and the group on the 17th tee heard me and clapped. Shot 76 and told the Golf Course Manager (Josh) who sent a notification to the Membership via Facebook. This was my very first hole-in-one even though I have been playing for 50 years!
Anul Patel, Woodside Golf Course, Hole #7
Thank you for the opportunity to share the ace with Golf Canada!
I was playing with two Woodside Members (Cal Daling and Ron) as well as another single, Chris Brown. 135 yards into a 1 club wind. Punched 9 iron struck a couple of grooves low on the face. The ball landed at the front of the green, hopped, checked and rolled into the cup! I’m thrilled for my third ace!
Best,
Anul Patel
Brent Glanville, Summerland Golf & Country Club, Hole #4
Greetings,
Playing with friends Dave Bowman of Kelowna B.C. and Harold Schneider visiting from Calgary, AB.
4th hole at Summerland Golf and Country Club plays 133 yards to middle of green over water. Pin was at the back playing 140+ yards. Both friends hit and put their shots onto the green.
I was last to swing and swung an easy eight iron. “Johnny Miller Baby Draw.” The ball landed directly in front of pin and tracked in for the hole-in-one.
All smiles!
Brent Glanville
Brett Bateman, Sandpiper Golf Club, Hole #12
Good morning!
Thank you for the message and the visual to share.
I was playing in week two of the six-week BC Zone 3 Spring Tour with a foursome that included a friend of mine, Max. The yardage was 113 yards and I hit a 52-degree wedge.
This is actually my second hole-in-one! My first was at the Willows course at Surrey Golf Course in May 2021.
Thanks again.
Brett Bateman
Chad MacMillan, Paragon Golf & Country Club, Hole #13
Hi,
Thank you for your e-mail! I used a gap wedge from 122 yards. I was playing with Colin Muise and my father, Gerry MacMillan. It was my second career hole-in-one, but my first while playing with my father – to share that moment with him was special.
All the best and thank you once again,
Chad MacMillan
Darrell Peters, Markland Wood Golf Club, Hole #2
Thank you for your congratulatory email!
I made a hole-in-one at our Club’s opening day! I was playing with friends Richard Innes, Frank Vrabel and Orest Szot. On hole #2, with my 6th swing of the year (yes, I bogeyed #1 ☹️), I got my hole-in-one. The hole was playing 157 yards to a middle pin. I hit my 7-iron. Two bounces and in! This is my second hole-in-one!
David Boddington, Whispering Woods, Hole #6
I was playing with Warren Hynes, Brad Jones and Ronn Reaman. We hit from the whites. 176 yards. Playing 180 yards and I hit my 4 iron in on the fly.
David Stone, Raven Crest, Hole #3
First round of the year. Playing with Malcolm Grist, Jerry Hall and Ed McGonaghy at Ravencrest. Back pin. Ranged at 140 yards against the wind. 7 iron. Jerry and I both hit decent shots but only one wasvisible by the hole. Looked in, and there it was, my third hole-in-one. Great way to start the year.
Ellie Kerr, Morgan Run Resort & Club, Hole #3
Hello to Golf Canada and thank you for your congratulatory e-mail.
I’m a member of Cherry Hill Club in Ontario, Canada. I was golfing with my good friend Tami McClenny at our winter course, Morgan Run Club and Resort, in Rancho Santa Fe, California.
We were playing the North course as our second nine on Saturday April 8, 2023. The 3rd hole is listed as 97 yards for the red tee, and it was a back pin. I hit a 9 iron to the elevated green and when I walked up and didn’t see my ball on the green, I feared it bounced off the back. When we found it in the hole, we couldn’t believe it. We shouted and jumped up and down and looked around to share the moment but there was no one behind us or in front of us on the course. Some folks walking across the road from the course heard us and we shared the great news with them. It was my first hole-in-one.
My husband and children surprised me by being at the clubhouse when we finished, and we celebrated together.
Here’s to a great season of golf in Canada.
Ellie Kerr
Fred Ollewagen, Deer Creek Golf Club, Hole #7
Greetings,
I was featured in your October 2022 feature with my first and second holes-in-one in the space of one weekend.
Only 15 rounds later I’m proud to say I have my third. It was the 7th hole on Diamond at Deer Creek GC. 123 yards. 54-degree wedge.
Jason Jiang, Mayair Lakes, Hole #4
Hi,
I was playing in the Chinese bald eagle tournament. On hole #4 I had my first official hole-in-one.
Josh King, Osprey Ridge Golf Course, Hole #8
Thanks! This is a nice touch by Golf Canada.
I was playing with Ryan Nowe and Patrick Gillis. Hole #8 at Osprey is 150 yards straight uphill. Ryan and Patrick both hit really good shots and then I hit a 9-iron that never really left the pin and when I got up to the green and only saw two balls I sort of knew mine had to be in the hole and sure enough it was. Lord knows my scorecard needed it as I was playing awful up to that point. It’s my third career hole-in-one and hopefully not my last!
Thanks,
Josh King CA, CPA
Kay Tsurusaki, Marine Drive Golf Club, Hole #4
Hello,
Thank you for your message. Yes, it was very exciting as it was my first hole-in-one! It was at hole #4 and 107 yards. I used 7 iron for the shot. Amazing it went in.
Thank you for sending me the graphics to commemorate this event!
Kay Tsurusaki
Susan Barnes, Creston Golf Club, Hole #6
Hole-in-one at the Creston Golf Club on April 21st with my girl friends Shirley and Petra. It was 112 yards, and I used a choked down 5 utility. Shirley is my good luck charm as she was with me last year for a hole-in-one (same hole).
Tab Clark, Listowel Golf & Country Club, Hole #2
Thank you for the congrats on the hole-in-one. I’ve been golfing since I was a teenager, and this is my one.
As per your note below, it occurred on the second hole Listowel Heritage course from the White Tees, roughly 125 yards. 8 iron. The ball landed about one metre from the hole. I bent down to pick up the tee and the guys I was playing with said “it’s in”. Because I was picking up the tee, I did not see the ball go into the cup. I was playing with Wayne Harwood, Andre Paradis and Wayne’s son Gavyn Harwood. It was my first time out for the season during the stretch of nice weather we had in Southern Ontario.
Best regards,
Tab Clark
Teddi Swalm, Landings Golf Course, Hole #6
Thank you for acknowledging my hole-in-one. I’ve been golfing since I was a kid and finally at 63 got my first hole-in-one. I was golfing with my husband Tim Merrill and friends John Van de Ven and Dave Wein. It was a 100-yard par 3 and I used my Utility Wedge.
Tom Fraser, Yarmouth Golf & Curling Club, Hole #7
I was teeing off on number 7, 100 yards with my pitching wedge and my Titleist 5. I showed the ball to my playing partner Richard because it was a bit warn. Given the cart was a distance away, I decided to just play it. When I hit the ball, we thought it would end up in the bunker but instead it kicked right up to the green and we watched roll right into the hole. Want a moment.
Thank you.
Tom Fraser
Trevor Coldwell, Paraiso del Mar Golf & Country Club, Hole #6
Thanks for the email. The hole was playing 131 into the wind. I hit a 9 iron. I was playing with my wife, Terri, and our neighbours, Terri and Lisa McCreadie.

Alan Robichaud, Burnt Store Marina & Country Club, Hole #14
Hello,
Just here to recap the hole-in-one I got. I came up to the tee box, held tight and swung away. Oddly enough it was a very straight shot over the water against the wind. Bounced just before the green rolled up and dropped right in on the right side of the cup. It was pretty surreal since four holes before it took me eleven strokes to bury it in! I’m not a good golfer by any means and it was something to see for sure. I was super excited. But also laughed because I used a 10 iron. Which I didn’t know they made. Back home it’s a pitching wedge, but this has a 10 written on it. We got a kick out of that for sure. I played with three of my close friends, Paul Desjardins, and father and son Mark and Ryan Boudens. It was about 120 yards. I was just glad I got it with my golfing friends. Made it that much more special!
This is the only photo I got on that day. We were here on a mini vacation, and it started off pretty amazing.
Ash Kayastha, Royal Colwood Golf Club, Hole #15
Thank you so much for sharing! My ace was on April, 1 (tough day to get one). I used an 8 iron. 140 yards uphill against the wind. I was playing with Carter Franks and another member of Colwood.
Brad Hotham, Ambassador Golf Club, Hole #14
Hello and thank you for the email. I was playing with Mike Kainz, Jeff Sanford, and Chris Gilbert. I used a 5 iron from 185 yards, and it bounced twice before going in.
Brandy Montgomery, Bridgewater Country Club, Hole #4
Hello Golf Canada!
This is amazing! Thank you for reaching out to me and wanting to find out the details about my hole-in-one last week Wednesday! It was an amazing feeling and witnessing it go in the hole in front of my eyes was the best feeling!
It was my first round back for the season as our club (Bridgewater Golf and CC) just opened that Monday prior. I was with my two friends, Ellen Fisher and Stephanie Noble, and they both witnessed it drop in the hole with me! We try weekly to get out for a round, just us girls and this one was the most memorable yet! I was the last of our group to tee off and I double checked the yardage with Ellen, and we clocked it at 123 yards from the red tees. I got out my 9 iron and hit the cleanest strike I had hit so far that round. I even yelled at the ball “get there” thinking it would hit the deadly front right bunker, but it caught the back slope of it instead and curved from right to left and dropped right in! It was a tough front pin with not much green to work with so it really was the most perfect shot I could have hit!
I was so nervous after walking up to the green I screamed in excitement when I saw the ball in the hole!
As the cofounder of Mishits Golf, I was wearing my favourite shirt under my long sleeve that day, but I sure didn’t Mishit that shot! 🙂
The best part about the whole thing was calling my husband (who got me into golf about eight years ago) to tell him! He was not the happiest as he has yet to get a hole-in-one himself – but he was so excited for my accomplishment!
My course gave me this flag to remember that day! It is now hanging proudly in my garage at home beside the golf simulator my husband built. Hopefully one day I can add more to the collection 🙂
Thank you again for reaching out to me!
Brandy Montgomery
Brenda Lund, Sunnydale Golf Society, Hole #10
That great day was spent with my husband, Paul Lund, who saw the hole-in-one. The yardage was 108 and I used my 5 iron. What a great day and moment.
Dave Heenan, Timber Ridge Golf Course, Hole #8
Hello,
Thanks for the email.
Yes, I had a hole-in-one on the 8th hole at Timber Ridge, a course located between Trenton and Brighton, Ontario. It’s one of my favourites in this region due to the rolling hills, elevation changes, and nice greens. The 8th hole is an elevated green, that plays 102 yards on the card, but was playing 110 yards on the rangefinder. I was playing with Robert Kimber and Graham Stratford, who I’ve played with for more than 30 years. Our home course is Loyalist G&CC in Bath, Ontario.
I hit a pitching wedge straight at the flag but did not see the result because of the elevation. Robert played the same club, straight as well. Graham hit a slight draw to the left, just off the green. When we arrived at the green, I only saw one ball (yellow) a few feet left of the hole which was Robert’s, not my white ball (Kirkland Signature #2, in case Costco wants to sponsor me on the tour). I thought I might be slightly long, so took a lob wedge and putter to the green. When Robert went to mark his ball, he saw mine in the hole.
I must admit I never thought to take a photo, because there was a group behind and I would have had to walk back to the cart to get my cellphone (pace of play, of course!). Graham made an up-and-down for par and a kick-in birdie for Robert meant we scored 1-2-3 on this hole!
Ironically, about 5 years ago both guys had a hole-in-one on the same hole at Amherstview golf course (the 3rd) about one year apart, so I was the last of this group to achieve an ace.
Regards,
Dave Heenan
Gail Fennell, Chesapeake Golf Club, Hole #3
My wife Gail Fennell, 61 years old from Stoney Creek, ON, got a hole-in-one at the Chesapeake Golf Club in Chesapeake, Virginia. We originally had a reservation at another course, but they were overbooked. We looked for another course in the area and booked a tee time for 12:00pm. It was the third hole and she hit it with a 9 iron. It sailed towards the hole, one bounce and about 25 feet of roll an in!
It was an awesome thing to watch, and we couldn’t be happier for her!
Geramy Powell, Paraiso Del Mar, Hole #14
So nice of Golf Canada to notice my little accomplishment. It was an exciting moment for all four of us. I couldn’t believe the ball went in but the rest all saw it hit the green and “go in the hole”. It was on hole #14, about 88 yards so I used my wedge. With a wind coming in off the water at about 30 kmh. I was with my good friends Bill Rafter, Leonard Johnson and his wife Diana Johnson. All this after crossing the paths of two rattlesnakes.
Helen Knowlton, Superstition Golf Course, Hole #3
I’m a social golfer but got three hole-in-ones in less than a year!
My first hole-in-one occurred on December 2, 2021, at Superstition Golf Course in Mesa, Arizona. Happened on hole #3 which measured 105 yards.
Then, on June 3, 2022, at Olds Golf Club in Olds, Alberta, I got a hole-in-one on hole #7 (110 yards).
My most recent hole-in-one happened on hole #16 at Foothills Golf Course in Phoenix, Arizona. 112 yards. November 27, 2022.
Jerry Parnell, Creston Golf Club, Hole #13
March 31st, 2023. It was a blustery day for the first day of the season. I went out with friends Noel and Larry to knock the rust out of my game. I was having a rather rough time until hole #13. A par 3, 138-yard shot. Noel, a much better golfer than me, tee’s up and struck a nice shot onto the green ending up with a seven-foot putt (and I’m sorry I can’t, for the life of me, remember if he sunk his birdie). I’m up next, so I take my trusty 8 iron, place the Callaway ChromeSoft ball onto my lucky orange tee and gave it a nice solid hit. Felt good…flew high and a little left of the flag…rolled toward the hole and looked like it might have settled just behind the pin. Larry pulled his shot a tad so off we set to assess the situation. My ball was nowhere in sight, so we looked in the cup. Sure enough, there the baby was nestled snug as a bug in the bottom of the hole. At this point, I’m in a state of disbelief. WOW. JUST WOW! Finished the round in a haze. Or rather, blaze of glory!
Here’s to the start of a great season! Cheers!
Jerry Parnell
Joanne Webster, Desert Falls Country Club, Hole #3
Wow, thank you for the congratulations, how awesome!
Played Desert Falls Golf and Country Club, Palm Desert, April 12, 2023.
3rd hole is a short 101-yard par 3 from the front tees, flag middle back. My nine
iron landed 15 feet to the right of the pin and slowly rolled left until we saw it gently nudge the pin and disappear! “Think I just got a hole-in-one”, but never sure (had not played there before so wasn’t familiar with the green), “maybe it disappeared over a ridge and rolled off to the back?”
Partner, Sue Rea, and I scurried up to the green. Sue’s ball (pretty shot) was 20 feet short of the pin (which she sank for a bird) and my ball was in the hole!!
The serendipitous part of it all was I witnessed Sue drop one, 134 meters on hole #16, County Sligo Golf Club, Ross’s Point, Ireland in 2013! The hole-in-one Sista’s!
Must mention Tom, the single we let through on hole #2. As he was passing by our tee box, he said “Thanks. I’d like to share something with you.” Tom had a hole-in-one on hole #3 the first time he played Desert Falls! “Wow, good on you” we said, and calling out as he drove away, “Send those hole-in-one vibes our way.” Seems like he did!
This was my second hole-in-one with my first being at Predators Ridge in Vernon. My husband said to our son Scott, as they were waiting for me to tee off, “Your mom is going to get a hole-in-one!”
4th hole – 133 yards, slightly downhill big green, pin middle right. 6 iron landed on the left side of the green and fed down to the hole, didn’t see it drop, but Ralph knew it was in, and it was!
Thanks for asking. Everyone’s hole-in-one story is a story and a lifelong memory! ⛳
Joanne Webster
John Cormier, Bear Creek Golf Club, Hole #14
Thank you for your response.
It was after some 55 years of playing, my first. I was playing with my wife, Shelley Keyser, and a couple from Dundas Valley Golf Club and good friends Bill and Brooke Hutchings.
The shot was 156 yards into the wind. I hit a 6 iron and the ball landed two inches behind hole and one hopped back and in! Coming off a birdie on the previous hole it felt great.
Cheers,
John Cormier
John White, Myrtlewood Golf Club, Hole #6
Thank you. The hole measured 156 yards with my range finder. It was downwind and I used an 8 iron. Playing partners were Kirk Steele, Garth Cousins and Jamie Stride. It was my third career hole-in-one, the last one in 1995.
John White
Kim Tran, Loomis Trail Golf Club, Hole #16
I was playing with three buddies’: Mark Vaughan, Scott Hurdle and Keith MacKinnon. The yardage was 190and I used a 4 rescue. It was a high shot that landed eight feet short of the hole and rolled right in.
Michael Fines, The Links at Penn Hills, Hole #6
I was golfing with my two daughters and my son-in-law. We are having a beautiful early spring and a few courses had opened so why not. I had just come up short from 100 yards out with my pitching wedge the previous hole into the wind, so for this tee shot on hole #8 I decided to club up just in case. I didn’t want to force a full swing, so I used my 9 from between 105-110. As soon as I struck it, I knew it was close and the water was not a factor. It landed about six feet short of the pin and went in on the second bounce. This was my second hole-in-one. The other one being on hole #6 at Furness Golf Club in 2001. That one I didn’t see as it was to an elevated green.
I had a stroke in 2014 and it has limited my time golfing dramatically, and until last year I never really thought I would be able to continue playing. Needless to say, I was a little excited for this one.
Thanks again for reaching out.
Respectfully,
Michael Fines

Mike Gibson, Rolling Meadows, Hole #4
Hi,
I was very excited to receive your email. Took me completely by surprise.
Thank you so much for the graphic. It is now my screen saver, and I flash it to everyone.
I played with three buddies who are members of Rolling Meadows: Greg Waters, Ron Labatt and Don Yaki. I am a member of Niagara National Golf Course. We played the white tees, and it was 171 yards. I used a 5 hybrid.
Unfortunately, I left my phone in the car that day, so I plan on playing again soon, and will get myself a photo taking the ball out of the cup.
My son is getting a plaque made for me.
Thank you so much again for the email and the graphic keepsake!
Rhonda Thompson, Tobiano Golf Course, Hole #7
Hi,
Thank you for the acknowledgment and the graphic!
I was playing with my husband and two friends when I got the hole-in-one. The yardage was about 120 and I used my 4 hybrid. There was a 10-15 kmh wind and I was hitting into it. The hole has an 80 yard carry over a deep gully as well. It was a very chilly windy day and no joke; I had 6 layers on! I could barely swing my club.
I would be honoured if you used my story, I feel it proves that anyone in any circumstances can get a hole-in-one it just has to be “your time”.
Rob Charron, Victoria Golf Club, Hole #13
Thanks for the interest in my hole-in-one ?. It was on hole #13 on April 6th at Victoria Golf Club. It was a very windy day, and the wind was directly behind us. The pin was set to the front and was playing 135 yards. I played a pitching wedge to the right side of the green, it landed soft, and curled down to the left, and the four of us were able to see it roll in. Another group a few holes down from us said they heard the cheers. That was my second hole-in-one.
Shannon Schrader, Heritage Bay, Hole #6
I’ve been golfing since I was five years old when I started with my grandpa and this is my first hole-in-one!
My playing partners were Murray Schrader (husband), Jim Costello and Paula Costello (friends). 129 yards. Used a 7 iron.
Steve Jung, Mayfair Lakes Golf Course, Hole #15
Thanks for the congratulations!
It was during a VGT event. 15th hole. 178 yards on a rainy windy tournament. It sat wedged on the hole for over two minutes as the flag was bent over from the wind and then dropped after the other competitor hit his shot!
My brother hit a hole-in-one eight days later at Quilchena!
Thanks.
Steve Jung
As the 2022 golfing season comes to a close, this is our final hole-in-one report. Over the course of the year, Golf Canada members recorded a whopping 3,069 holes-in-one.
Stay tuned for April 2023 when we kick off our 2023 Hole-in-One Report.
Aileen Trescher, Emerald Hills Golf & Country Club, Hole #16
That is awesome!
I played with Flo Hanna and Quinn Alberico. Both members at Emerald Hills Golf & Country Club. The hole is listed as 84 yards from the red tees, and it was a blue flag. I used a 13 wood for the shot and a Calloway Supersoft matte pink ball. It was my birthday! My third hole-in-one but the first at Emerald Hills.
Thanks!
Aileen
Andrew Hetherington, Dundas Valley Golf & Curling Clun, Hole #9
Good Morning,
I have been a member at Dundas Valley for five years and the 220-yard par 3 9th hole has always been a difficult one to finish off the front nine. I hit a beautiful four iron right at the logo on the clubhouse and I anticipated it was going to be short of the green. The pin was located on the front right corner and from where we teed off so we could not see the hole. I walked up to the hole and saw my playing partners balls just short and one just long, but I didn’t see mine until I walked up to the hole! What a feeling! This is my first hole-in-one and feels amazing to be part of the club.
Shoutout to John Falzoi for the picture.
Cheers,
Andrew
Anisur Salim, Dentonia Park Golf Course, Hole #18
This my 8th hole-in-one!
Details:
– Dentonia Park Golf Course
– November 3rd, 2022
– Hole #18
– Using a 56-degree wedge
Thank you.
Ann Dorken, Carleton Golf & Yacht Club, Hole #8
Hi,
Thank you so much for the email and the graphic.
I was playing with Laura Knowles, Susie Walter and Carleigh Taggart. The yardage was 122 yards. A white flag on the left-hand side. I used my 6 iron.
This is my third hole-in-one, one each the last three golf seasons. All at Carleton Golf and Yacht Club.
Thank you,
Ann
Anthony Sabatino, Willow Valley Golf Club, Hole #17
Hi,
Thanks for the email!
I was playing with one of my friends and another one of my friends’ dads who works at Willow Valley Golf Club.
The pin was right up to the front of the green. I had 121 to the pin with a little cross wind. I hit a 50-degree wedge. It took one hop just short of the hole and went right in. I couldn’t believe it when it happened. It was a great moment and a great way to end the 2022 outdoor season.
Thanks again.
Anthony Smith, Mount Brenton Golf Club, Hole #16
Hello Golf Canada,
I got my sixth hole-in-one at Mount Brenton Golf Club in Chemainus, B.C.
I am 80 years old and now play from the middle tees. The flag was at a front pin, 100 yards, slightly uphill and into the wind. I hit a 9 iron, and actually hit it pure, an unusual occurrence for me.
Witnessed by Berry Reumkens, who recorded his first ace two weeks ago on our hole #11, Fred Stephenson, and Murray Bowler.
It was a good day.
Blair Sturrock, March Meadows Golf Club, Hole #10
Hey,
My hole-in-one was 160 yards. I hit a 9 iron with a three-yard draw. I was playing with Justin Theriau. Calm day. A special moment on a magical course.
Cheers,
Blair
Bob McFarlane, Covered Bridge Golf & Country Club, Hole #17
Thank you Golf Canada.
After 35+ years of trying, I finally got the ace to drop. I have attached a picture, picking the ball out of the hole. NPR…no putter required.
It was on #17 at Covered Bridge in Hartland, N.B., on a bit of a cold day with a two club wind at times. The yardage was just over 130, with the pin just right of center of the green but felt like it was playing over 155 yards. I decided to just go with an easy 7 iron to try and keep it down out of the wind a bit. Playing a Pro-V1 ball. Taylor Made P790 irons.
I made the swing, and the ball flight was good, towards the middle with a slight cut. The ball landed 20’ short and left of the pin, then rolled to the right, then it disappeared! I couldn’t believe it just happened. I honestly didn’t believe it 100% until I pulled the ball from cup. Incredible! That ball was signed by the group and is now in my collection.
Thanks,
Bob M.
Brian Dorey, Glen Arbour Championship Golf Course, Hole #2
On July 23, 2022, I played with Tony O’Keefe and Wayne Quinn. On hole number 2 at the Glen Arbour Championship Course, the pin was 129 yards away with a little breeze at us. I hit my nine iron and we watched as the ball, a Bridgestone RX, landed on the edge of the green and rolled until it disappeared into the hole. Tony’s granddaughter painted a picture for me to commemorate my second hole-in-one and presented it to me as we played hole #15. Such an amazing gesture. Will treasure it always.
Brian Murphy, Royal Colwood Golf & Country Club, Hole #4
Hello,
I just read the Golf Canada article about letting you know about holes-in-one.
I am a member of the Royal Colwood Golf and Country Club and a Golf Canada member.
On May 27, 2022, I had a hole-in-one on the 160-yard 4th hole using a seven iron for my sixth hole-in-one. I then proceeded to birdie the other three par 3’s sinking puts of two feet on the 7th hole, 21 feet on 11th hole and 11 feet on the 15th hole in the same round – so five under on the par 3’s.
Below is a summary of noteworthy achievements from the Wilbur annual meeting (October 28th) where the chair, Darry Rhoades, who played with me on May 27th, provided the following summary at the meeting as part of his annual report:
“On May 27, Brian Murphy not only aced the fourth hole, but went on to birdie the remaining par 3s. An incredible performance I have never seen in over 60 years of playing golf. We have all heard of double-oh-seven. Brian’s new moniker appears to be triple-two-one.” – Darry Rhoades
Best regards,
Brian Murphy
Bruce Kerr, The Links at Dover Coast, Hole #1
Hey,
Thanks for the correspondence. It was a fun way to finish our season at Dover Coast. I was playing with my wife, Tammy, and friends of ours, Ed and Fran Riley. I scoped the hole at 158 yards and used a 7 iron for the shot.
Cheers,
Bruce Kerr
Caroline Nilsson, Mickelson National Golf Club, Hole #17
Hi,
Thanks for the email. I was golfing with a friend of mine, Geoff Cook, and a twosome, Ryan and Kevin, that the golf course paired us with. The total yardage was 97, and I used my 9 iron. It was pretty exciting.
Happy golfing.
Caroline
Chris Li, Sunningdale Golf Club, Hole #18
I’ve played golf for about 10 years, and this was my very first hole-in-one at Sunningdale Golf Club on August 6, 2022.
It was par 3, 174 yards on the 18th hole where I used 4 iron. This was the most difficult par 3 on Sunningdale Golf Course because you have tee off over the cliff pass the creek, and on the right side is the pond.
The ball landed on the left side about six feet from the pin and started rolling to the pin on the right. I was yelling “it’s going in, it’s going in!” to get my wife’s attention but she was waiting under the tree in the shade and just ignored me. She thought I was joking and did not run over to see. I told her the ball went in, but she still didn’t believe me! Afterwards, we walked down the trail to the hole and sure enough it was in!
Chris Li
Colin Groves, Osprey Ridge Golf Course, Hole #15
Hi,
Thank you for your kind words! It was a pretty special moment for me, one that I will not soon forget.
I had the pleasure of playing with a good friend, Liam MacLellan, and I was joined up with Jeff Crouse and Lisa Landry. They were great company. The hole was playing about 150 that day, and a smooth 7 iron did the trick for me! Used a Titleist ProV1 ball. With the sun blinding us all from the tee box, we all knew it looked good leaving the club and was right at it, but we didn’t know how good it turned out until we arrived to the green and found no visible balls on the green.
Thanks again!
Cris Cosariu, Dundarave Golf Course, Hole #5
Hi,
Thanks for reaching out!
I was with my buddies from work – Craig Hall, Robbie McMahon and Chris Pearce.
It was on hole #5 at Dunderave, a beautiful hole right alongside an ocean inlet, with a trap cradling the entire left side of the green. We played the white tees which were 130 yards off, and leading up to my swing, I thought I should aim a bit to the right (refer to aforementioned trap the entirety left of the green). Lo and behold, I hit a beautiful draw with my 9 iron that landed about ten feet short of the hole, but the ball kept rolling, slower, and slower, albeit more and more dramatically, towards the sweet spot, eventually suddenly dropping from our sight.
I am not a great golfer by any means, but I’m happy to say I was lucky enough to get an ace.
Unfortunately, we couldn’t finish the round due to early sunset, we only got 14 holes in, including a couple in the dark.
Thanks for reaching out and reading my once in a lifetime story.
Cris Cosariu
Dan Ireland, The Club at North Halton, Hole #17
On Thursday, August 18, at The Club at North Halton, I aced the 17th hole with an 8 iron. This was an especially exciting round as I had tied my personal best for none holes on the front nine, and the ace led to me tying my personal best for 18 holes. The best part of when it happened was two of my best golf buddies were as excited or maybe even more than me. Neither had ever been in a group where an ace occurred or even seen one. They are both looking for their first ace, so I really hope I’m there when it happens.
Dan Ireland
Debbie Warren, Beach Grove Golf Course, Hole #4
October 13, 2022, started off as a pretty normal day out for a game with my golfing pals, Barb, Pam and Penny. I teed off hole #4, 130 yards with my 7 iron. I hit a high shot and watched as it flew over the bunker directly at the pin that was located at the back of the green on the left. There was an elevated portion of the green that prevented us from seeing the ball land. As we approached the green, we found the ball mark about eight feet in front of the pin and the ball in the hole. What a fantastic day!
Derek Maheux, Pointe West, Hole #4
Thank-you for your email. It was exciting to get my first hole-in-one, especially considering I was the only one in my usual group without one! I played with Dragi Tanovic, Lee Greenham and Eric Griggs. We were first off that morning after a frost and fog delay. We started with fog still limiting visibility but thankfully we were all able to see my ball go in the hole. I used a nine iron (one more club than I normally would have) for the 142-yard front pin.
Cheers,
Derek
Donald Cohn, Bear Mountain Golf Course, Hole #16
I had a hole-in-one on the Mountain Course on October 6, 2022. 16 days later, on October 21, 2022, I scored another hole-in-one, on the Valley Course at Bear Mountain in Victoria, B.C. Happened on the 143-yard 16th hole. I used a 3 iron. This was a scramble format, playing on a team competing in the Seniors Friday golf.
Cheers,
Don Cohn
Drew Weir, Fanshawe Golf & Country Club, Hole #8
I was playing Fanshawe golf course, on the Quarry Track in London, ON. I was first off the tee after a frost delay.
I had just come off a birdy on hole #7 and set up on hole #8. I was playing from the blues with a blue flag and the pin at the back of the green. I scoped 158 yards right into the sun. I pulled out my 7 iron and let it fly. I could not see the ball because of the sun, so I covered the sun with my arm and staired at the green. I’d seen a bounce then gone. I drove up in the cart and grabbed my pitching wedge and putter thinking it went it, but it may have rolled off the back. I’d seen the impact mark and looked in the hole and bam, the ball was in the hole! One to remember!
Eddie Sun, McCleery Golf Course, Hole #3
Good morning,
This is my first hole-in-one! It’s unbelievable!
I was playing with Regina, Yumeng and Joyce at McCleery Golf Course on February 5, 2023.
The hole #3 was 182 yards from white tee box. The pin was front and middle of the green. I used a 3 hybrid with baby fade shape. The ball landed on the front of the green. When I walked towards the green, no ball was on the green. This moment I thought it might be hole-in-one.
What an amazing experience!
Eddie
Gary Perkins, Penticton Golf & Country Club, Hole #10
Hole #10 at my home course in Penticton G&CC. 163 yards with a 6 iron. There was a heavy south wind, so I played it with a stronger draw than I normally do and it just flew. Came in 20 feet in front of the hole and then disappeared. I thought it went just behind the pin but one of my playing partners said, “that’s in.” I didn’t believe it until I got to the green and I didn’t see my ball. It was very cool and somewhat surreal at the same time.
Gary Perkins
Glenn Pitura, Coppinwood, Hole #7
Hey,
That’s so great of you to prepare that graphic. Thank you.
A few more details of the hole-in-one:
– Playing partners were: Patrick Turner, Mark Applebaum and Ken May (one of the founders of Coppinwood).
– Hit a 9 iron.
– Hole was playing 144 yards.
– Ball was on line the whole flight. We saw it land about five feet in front of the pin, bounce twice then disappear. We weren’t sure if it went in or went over because the sun made visibility a little tough. As we were approaching the green, Patrick said he thought he could see a ball over the green, so we thought it missed. I checked and there was no ball over the green, so I walked up to the hole and sure enough the ball was sitting in the bottom of the cup!
– I wasn’t playing great earlier in the round so I switched to a new ProV1 on the 7th Turns out I’ll only get to hit one shot with that ball, ever. Makes for a nice clean trophy ball though!
– This is my first hole-in-one despite playing for over 50 years. My 87-year-old father has three, including one for which he won a car in a tournament years ago. But his favourite hole-in-one is one he got at Thornhill Country Club about 30 years ago when I was playing with him and my mom. I had the honour, and hit my tee shot about three feet from the pin. Proud as could be, I turned to him and said, “Beat that chief!” and he promptly stepped up and got a hole-in-one. “That ought to do” he said. I’ve never seen him smile wider. He’s said that story a million times, and always loud enough so that I can hear him tell it. ARGH! It drove me crazy, but at least now I can say I’m only trailing 3-1 in the hole-in-one department.
– Finally, I play about 90-95% of my rounds with at least one of my two sons in my group. Sunday was one of the rare days I didn’t play with either of them. My oldest boy, Adam, was supposed to play yesterday but he called me two hours before we were to tee off to tell me he’d just testing positive for COVID so he couldn’t play. Fortunately, Ken was able to join us last minute, so we had a great foursome, but I wish one or both of my boys were there to share the moment with me. Maybe next time.
Thanks so much for your interest.

Graham Bartsch, The Dunes, Hole #6
Good day,
Just reporting that after 30 plus years of playing, and over 1,200 rounds, I recorded my first ever hole-in-one on Sunday October 11, 2022!
It happened on hole #6 at The Dunes in Kamloops, B.C. Playing conditions were windy, so I swung an easy pitching wedge from 127 yards to a front pin location. After I struck the ball, I thought, “great line, but I think it will be a bit long” and bent down to pick up my tee. Just then my playing partner yelled, “get in the hole” and I looked to the pin just in time to see white turn to green! The ball traveled slightly past the pin and screwed back into the cup for my first ever!
Needless to say, was pretty exciting!
Have a great day.
Graham Bartsch
Heather MacLeod, Wildfire Golf Club, Hole #3
Hi,
Thank you for your lovely note and the graphic!
I was playing with my husband, John Ryder, alongside Laura Gainey and Richard Clark at Wildfire Golf Club on Sunday, October 16. The hole-in-one was on the third hole and 102 yards. I was using a 6 hybrid.
A few weeks later (October 29), my husband, John Ryder, got a hole-in-one on at Wildfire Golf Course on the 17th hole. For both of us it was our first hole-in-one, and they happened within two weeks of one another. What are the odds!
John Ryder, Wildfire Golf Club, Hole #17
Thank you Hole-in-One team.
Details:
– Wildfire Golf Club
– October 29, 2022
– 17th hole, 137 yards tee block to pin
– 8 iron
– Playing with my wife Heather MacLeod (who got a hole-in-one two weeks ago), Jane Clegg and Robin Kelly
Ken Davidson, Oakfield Golf and Country Club, Hole #13
I got my second hole in one on June 4, 2022, on hole #13 at Oakfield Golf and Country Club, using a 9 iron.
Ken
Kerry McWilliams, Olympic View, Hole #6
The hole was #6, playing 210 yards with perfect conditions. I was playing with my long-time golf buddy, Stuart Brazier, and two members from the course – one happened to be their senior men’s club champion. Both members said this was one of the harder holes on the course – ironically! I was last to hit in the group this hole after making at terrible bogey the hole before and seeing everyone else’s ball safely get on the green. I put a good swing on my 4 iron, tracking at the pin, not really watching just hoping it had enough to get center of the green. Then, we all heard it hit the pin and the consensus was it likely bounced anywhere. Upon arrival to the green, the senior men’s club champion said, “Don’t bring your putter, you just aced this hole!” I celebrated with a round of Lucky Lagers!
Thanks guys!
Pretty cool feeling.
Kerry McWilliams
Leo Jacques, Bellmere Winds, Hole #8
I got my hole-in-one back on August 29 while playing at Bellmere Winds. It occurred on hole #8 which was playing 173 yards. I was using my 6 iron. Playing with some good friends. It was an exciting day.
Thanks,
Leo Jacques
Lisa Sadd, Royal Mayfair Golf Club, Hole #16
My first hole-in-one was on hole #16 at the Royal Mayfair Golf Club in Edmonton on May 29th of 2022. I was playing from the white tees, and it was 126 yards. I used my 9 iron, and it went straight into the cup. I was playing with my husband, Marshall Sadd, and my 17-year-old son Charlie. They knew right away and were cheering, and I was in disbelief and thought our eyes must be playing tricks. Fun day!
Matthew Jones, Duntroon Highlands Golf Club, Hole #3
My hole-in-one occurred on hole #3 at Duntroon Highlands Golf Club. 102-yard par 3. Hit a 50-degree wedge that took one perfect bounce and rolled ten feet into the hole! The buddy I was playing with called it in the air! I couldn’t believe it.
Matthew Jones
Michael Misener, Greyhawk Golf Club, Hole #17
Hello and thanks!
My first hole-in-one came on my last round of the year for me. I was not hitting the ball very well but was having all sorts of luck including a chip in from the fringe and a holed bunker shot. I hit a 5 iron on the par 3, 17th hole, thinking it was too much club, but I hit it well. It looked good from the tee, but it was too dark to see it land. My playing partner, Brian Joe, found it in the hole.
Thanks again!
Micheal Tipman, Hylands Golf Club, Hole #12
On October 26, while playing golf with my wife Marie and another couple, I got a hole-in-one on the 12th hole on the Rockcliffe (North) course at the Hylands Golf Club in Ottawa. The hole on that day was a 161-yard par three, with rhw pin at the back of the green behind a front sand trap. I teed up with a Titleist AVX number 4 ball and hit it with a Taylor Made hybrid. The ball landed in the back quarter of the green and rolled into the hole. Just before I hit the ball, a marshal came around the corner behind the green and waited while our foursome teed off. I hit first so he was able to watch the ball from the club face into the hole. It was my first hole-in-one is some 55 years of playing golf. A great feeling.
Micheal Tipman
Mike White, Oshawa Golf & Country Club, Hole #3
Had our two-day member guest tournament and started on hole #3 at Oshawa Golf and Country Club. Didn’t take a practice swing at all, used a 50-degree wedge. The ball went right in the hole. Cheers heard all around the course!
Mike White
Paul Helsby, Westmount Golf & Country Club, Hole #3
Third hole at Westmount Golf & Country Club. Hole measured 178 yards; I used a 6 iron. First one after 40 years of trying.
Paul
Rod Fedyk, The Bridges at Claresholm Golf Course, Hole #14
I got a hole-in-one on October 15, 2022 at the Bridges Golf Course in Claresholm, Alberta. I was golfing with David Ross Thompson. It was on hole #4 about 130 yards, I used a Callaway (super hot 55) #3 golf ball, and a Callaway 8 iron. It was the second last day of the season in Claresholm. This is my second hole-in-one in my life, the first was on this same course but on hole # 17 many years ago. The Bridges is my home course and if you have never golfed here come give it a try. You’ll be pleasantly surprised.
Stephan Tucker, Sleepy Hollow Golf & Country Club, Hole #15
Hi,
Great to get a hole-in-one!
It was 107 yards from the white tees with a 52-degree wedge. The ball hit the green, bounced once, rolled past the pin, and spun back into the cup. My playing partners were Steve Pickett, Fred Pinkerton and Ali Akhtar.
Regards,
Stephan Tucker
Stephen Foreman, Whitevale Golf Club, Hole #14
I am a second-year member at the Whitevale Golf Club. Playing with my wife, Patricia, and one of our regular golf partners Ken Leithwood. A great day of Fall golf turned stellar on the 14th hole. A narrow fairway bracketed with thick woods. The pin was 133 yards out on the left back of a rolling green. I have played this hole with several different clubs this season with mediocre success. On this day, my TaylorMade Sim2, Senior shaft, 6 iron produced a good loft strait to the pin. A great end to my golf season.
Cheers!
Stephen
Susan Harrison, Duncan Meadows Golf Club, Hole #3
Hi,
I had a hole-in-one.
Details:
– August 28, 2022
– Duncan Meadows Golf Club
– Hole #3
– 110 yards
Missed the creek in front, pond left and bunkers right to disappear over a mound in front of the green eventually found in the hole!
Cheers,
Susan Harrison
Tony Godinho, Landings Golf Course, Hole #15
Thank you for the acknowledgement! I think it’s great that you do this for Golf Canada members!
So, as you can see from my round at the Landings that day, I was not particularly close to my handicap, however, when I arrived at the 15th hole with my fellow Landings members, Neil Carter and Caj Frostell, I was to tee-off first, as I was playing from the blue tees, and they were playing from the white tees. I took a look at my Garmin watch, and it said 150 yards to the center of the green. So, I selected my 5 iron. I took my shot, and I cannot lie, it looked really good with a baby draw going towards the pin. We had the sun practically in our eyes at that time, so none of us saw where the ball ended. I figured the way the ball was going, it had to be on the green. When we arrived at the green, we could not spot my ball so I thought I should go take a look in the hole. When I got close to the hole, I discovered my TaylorMade 1 ball with the four dots in the shape of a “T”, like my name Tony, and I did not even pick up the ball, I started shouting with excitement as Neil went to check the hole and picked out the ball for me! It is an amazing feeling.
I now have a kind of a trophy case at home, with two holes-in-one and one albatross. I feel pretty lucky!
Again, thank you for the hole-in-one certificate.
Thank you,
Tony Godinho
Trudy Paul, Tuxedo Golf Course, Hole #9
On September 6, 2022, I was playing a round at Tuxedo Golf Course, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, with my friend, Dee Hosking. I hit a 5 hybrid on the 121-yard hole #9. I watched my ball roll onto the green and toward the cup. Then it disappeared so I thought it went over the green. Dee was looking for her ball right of the tree while I searched for mine. When I could not locate it, I looked in the hole. There it was!
Walter Snyder, Greentree Golf Country Club, Hole #8
Hi,
Thank you for the email!
I was playing with two of my good golf buddies, Craig Kobes and Matt Philipchalk. We had our typical skins game going and were enjoying the fact that it had just quit raining. We had elected to play white tees, as the conditions were nasty when teeing off. The 8th hole was playing 122 yards. I hit a full pitching wedge, which flew about ten feet past the hole, and then rolled back down the slope into the top of the cup.
The hole-in-one enabled me to shoot my best round ever. Certainly, a golf day to remember!
Thanks,
Walter
Wayne Stewart, Westfield Golf and Country Club, Hole #2
After just coming off the first hole, I jokingly said how great our scores could be if you didn’t have to putt. I recorded a hole-in-one in Peridia, Florida on the second hole which was 108 yards. Now that felt great. The rest of the game went well, giving me my lowest score ever with a 74.
Cheers,
Wayne A. Stewart
Wendy Tessier, Mountain Creek Golf Club, Hole #16
Thank you for writing and for the graphic! I’ll definitely use it.
I was playing with three acquaintances, Jim Knight, John Callaghan and Jean Luc Dion at Mountain Creek Golf Course, in Arnprior, ON, on Saturday, October 29, 2022, mid-afternoon. It was a beautiful fall day, but the leaves had been well mulched, so no one had yet lost a ball. The holes on the back 9 had been aerated so putting was challenging! I was having a steady round when we got to hole #16, a par 3. The back blue pin was planted 100 yards from the advanced yellow tees. I had a lovely swing, very satisfying swing with my 8 iron, and that’s what I was reflecting on when Jim, quite excited, started waving his arms, jumping about and yelling that it was going to go in! Sure, enough with a slight arc on the green, it did! We three hugged and high-fived then I hugged John who had missed seeing it as his bag, as he left the back tees, had fallen off his cart! Hole #17 was okay but unthinkingly I used the same ball on 18 and lost it to my nemesis, the pond! So, I’ll be keeping that score card as a memento instead. The next day, same hole, my ball landed about two feet from the pin; I birdied it! Love hole #16!
This was my second hole-in-one at Mountain Creek having holed it out on the par 3, 14th hole during a match play. Mountain Creek Golf Club has two more par threes, holes #3 and #7 so I’ve set my sights on them now!
Fore!
Wendy Tessier
