Rounding out the women’s team is 18-year-old Grace St-Germain. The Ottawa product makes the jump to the Amateur Squad after spending two seasons with the Development Squad and one with Team Ontario. St-Germain took home the hardware at the Ontario Women’s Amateur in 2016, while adding a runner-up finish at the Quebec Women’s Amateur for the second straight year—an event which she won in 2014. She closed her season with a T20 finish at the Canadian Women’s Amateur and a share of ninth at the Canadian Junior Girls Championship—also a title she held in 2014. St-Germain joined the Daytona State Falcons—an NJCAA school—as a freshman in September.

Q: What are some of your nicknames?

Gracie

Q: Who or what got you into golf? Explain.

My Grandparents ran the junior program at my course for a bit and took me out and I liked it.

Q: What is your favourite pre-competition meal?

I like to have steak the night before a competition.

Q: How about your favourite “cheat” meal?

Anything sweet.

Q: What was the last book you read?

I just finished the Harry Potter books.

Q: Who would play you in a movie about your life?

Jennifer Lawrence.

Q: What is something most people don’t know about you? Any hidden talents?

I got hit in the head with a skate toepick when I was 5, I love reading.

Q: What exercise do you dread the most?

Push Ups.

Q: What was the last picture that you took on your phone?

A picture of my food.

Q: What is the best thing about your hometown?

Not too big but not small, skating on the Rideau Canal in the winter.

Q: Do you have any superstitions?

I always wear the same red ribbon. I only play with #3 balls.

Q: If you could have a walk-up song on the first tee box, what would it be?

Eye of the Tiger.
