Ellie Szeryk is one of four rookies to join the Development Squad in 2018. The 16-year-old won the Ontario Junior Girls before following that up with a T2 result at the Canadian Junior Girls. Szeryk also posted two runner-up finishes at the Future Links, driven by Acura Ontario and Quebec championships. Her older sister, Maddie, is entering her fourth year as a member of the Amateur Squad. Szeryk was part of the Canadian contingent that represented Canada at the 2017 World Junior Girls Championship at The Marshes Golf Club in Ottawa.

Q: How did you get into golf? Explain.

I grew up watching my sister play and all I wanted to do was beat her.
