Currie continued her charge in 2016 to solidify her place on the Development Squad for a second straight year. Two years removed from a stint with Team Ontario, the Mississauga, Ont., native made a mark back in her home province, winning the Ontario Junior Girls’ for the second straight year, followed by a win at Juvenile Girls’ Championship. She added runner-up finishes at the CN Future Links Pacific Championship, Golf Ontario Junior Girls Classic and the Canadian Junior Girls Championship. The 17-year-old mirrored her success overseas as well, capping her season by becoming the first Canadian to win the Duke of York Young Champions Trophy in Southport, England.
